What I think the situation really is...
Bot Lane is OP. Well, yeah, admittedly I think they are a bit overpowered right now in solo que. Here's the deal though. When you have a premade team of five, who have played a good amount together and each one knows their role---the game works beautifully. Yes the ADC is important in team fights, but all other roles feel significant because people are communicating.
I think Riot is taking the right step in taking initiative to try and implement voice chat. I hope that carries over seamlessly into in game interactions. I think you will see toxicity lowered as people learn to communicate fluidly throughout the game. Alot of arguments and differences in the world outside of gaming even arise from just pure lack of communication. League is a very intensive game, so it requires a lot of focus on everything within the game. Typing in the chat creates a restriction that simply isn't there when you can just use your voice. Because we were linguistic creatures, our brain allows us to talk and do very difficult things at the same time fairly easily.
The biggest problem I see in the game right now isn't the state of the game. Its the feeling people have about the state of the game. Nobody is enjoying it because it feels like you have to put in an insurmountable amount of effort to do anything that can change the game when it's not just going in your way. Bot lane is the main determinant in most games simply because it is generally two players by definition meant to work together throughout the game. That on top of the fact that ADC are designed to do the most damage in the game, it leads to those two players being able to be the main components of victory within the game.
I think the quicker Riot can get voice comms working in a fluid and fun way, the quicker we see people having more fun win or lose in their games. At least we can have the ability to work together more easily when things aren't going our way, and maybe these games won't be snowballing out of control as much.[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
