Does this Zoe Easter Egg Hint at Something Big?

If you play Zoe you know she likes to talk a lot, to the point it's kind of annoying but also kind of adorable at the same time, at least I think that was the goal with her character. Anyways, one of the lines I have heard and I'm sure most of you have too is pretty interesting and may be Riot's way of communicating something to us that have our ears open.

The line I'm talking about that Zoe says "If it wasn't so pretty I wouldn't be so sad that it's all about to change."

This is said in early game most times before minion spawn so that leads me to believe she is talking about Summoner's rift. Does this mean the map is changing? Maybe new maps being introduced? What do you guys think let me know down below.

Lorewise she's talking about the Void invasion.

Gamewise she might be joking that the map changes since we destroy structures, dragons, barons, and monsters.

Aurelion Sol has basically called all of Targon's aspects to Runeterra to deal with this thing known as "the entity". Something even Sol is afraid of. It also explains the resurgence of magic with the vastaya, the revival of the darkin and the arrival of Bard, the celestial entity of balance; The barriers between worlds are weakening and Runeterra is going to be the epicenter of a cataclysmic event.

EDIT: Granted, this is lore. Gameplaywise I don't think it means anything.

I'm hyped for it. I hope it causes a 2nd rune war and we finally get League of Legends 2 with older Annie and War Veteran Garen.

I don't think we're gonna get a league of legends 2 but I'm almost certain that once Riot finishes the last of the retcons (Only like a handful remain), we're going to get our first major storyline with the void invading runeterra and the first champion released tied so heavily to an event since...Skarner, I guess?

Camille/Xayah/Rakan technically count because they matched with lore rewrites but I mean more so a giant patch of lore/events in Runeterra.

Doubt it, I think the rune reforged issue is a separate issue. The Void has slowly been seeping in for a while now, especially in the new lore.

This should be some week lasting event called something along the lines of void invasion or void war and depending on how many quests are completed by players determines if the void win or lose or if they tie

I will literally play on all of my bronzes accounts at the same time. Just to make sure that the Void Wins. Lets see. 60/30=2 x 5 = 10 wins an hour. Using Malzahar, Vel, Cho, Kha, etc.

I doubt they'll do an even like that, they did one with Noxus vs Ionia and it kinda shaped lore but the void winning would literally mean the destruction of everything

As cool as it would be, a lot of lore events and situations would be hell to balance in a competitive PvP game like League. Part of the reason for the retcon and ludonarrative dissonance is due to League and champions being forced to remain static to justify them still being in the game and never changing beyond more confrontation. It all has a very comic book feeling to it where any progress or storyline has to reset to zero before the end because progression is the devil.

That said, I'd be down for summoner's rift or howling abyss reskins ala Butcher's Bridge. Imagine a Piltover map taking place on the bridges between Zaun and Piltover. A targon mountain pass for howling abyss. A Noxian arena to replace twisted treeline, etc.

They can still do a lot of progression storywise. Heck if something about the character were to change drastically they could realese that alternate version as a skin. Lore and gameplay doesn't have to be tied at all (GP still uses a ship in game even though he currently doesn't have one), jinx a ziggs know each other in the lore even though they don't have any interactions, Yasuo wearing his hair different in the lore, etc

They should do it like Overwatch does it. They make small changes to the map for lore. For example, the Doomfist gauntlet was in the payload for one of the maps, and you deliver it to the museum. Once DF was teased, they changed the map to include the destroyed Omnics sent to stop him, and the gauntlet was gone from the payload, but you still delivered the payload to the end of the map with no gameplay changes.

Riot could easily do a rune war change by making a destroyed map with all sorts of eye candy going on in the back (maybe a giant rune in the background where top laners can see the dragon flying?).

You know, this would make the perfect set up for a movie, I'm just saying. War on the world every champion is on currently, an all out battle between different nations, the political climate. And then the big bad at the very end, maybe releasing that as a new champion after the movie.

Do we know if those are even all of the Targonian Aspects? I've always thought there were 12, given the parellels between them and the Olympians. (Diana is actually the roman name of Artemis, Leona = Apollo, Zoe = Hermes, Pantheon = Ares, Taric = ..Aphrodite?) but even then, I feel like they have at least one more Targonian Aspect hidden away

This might have been better placed in Story Art and Sound. People in the gameplay board are too salty to bother with engaging in thought experiments like what you tried here. And that's probably why you got downvoted.

Don't quote me, but I'm pretty sure its the fact that aspects usually appear before tough times and the fact there are 5 aspects at the same time signifies something major is going to happen in Runeterra. It is probably the "void invasion" people have been talking about a lot

she talks about ww3 and meteorites hitting the earth and how everything is going to change and that is nice and pretty that you can play video games and go on with your daily life, but all of that will eventually end flames will reach out from the sky and people will scream in despair.

or, its a hint to the void lore getting released. You never know these days

We got a map change at the end of season 4 and beginning of season 5 with a new jungle experience. It's only been 4 seasons since, I wouldn't be surprised to see changes to some camps or some plant interactions. But you most likely won't see it until pre-season since these updates as a package are pretty tedious and impacting.

I just wonder what kind of change it would be...my money's on a change to the layout of the jungle. Of course, it would have to come mid-season or maybe next season, but that would be interesting!

Would be nice if they could finally at some point strike a balance between red and blue side. Blue side still has a better win rate by 1% overall from what I've read. I think top lane is the only time where red side is favored iirc and from my experience.

I would love for them to finally do something with the void and void champions, but in terms of an invasion event we still have noxus vs demacia, darkin vs everything, shadow isles vs everything, and the rune wars. A lot of events to go through. League lore is an anime that never finishes its cliff hangers or archs. Atleast in the old lore we had conclusions to events like noxus vs ionia. Or player decided events like khazix vs rengar.

You all are reading way too much into this. Zoe is the aspect of Twilight, the aspect who is the Harbinger of Change. She knows that when she appears somewhere, it is on path to changing. That's all this line is in reference to. She's centuries old, so she's not got any grasp on how time is moving, so it could be next year, or 100 years from when she is that the change occurs.
