Comet is dodgable, has a longer cooldown and as if it weren't enough it barely does visible damage. I think the reason why everyone is choosing Aery over comet is not because Aery is overpowered or something but the opposite
Comet is broken late game, can do upwards of 400 bonus damage. I don't know why people are complaining about comet lmao

As for Comet dealing 400 damage? Laughable. The talent is pretty meh at best. It tends to scale poorly into late game as mobility becomes more common. People can just walk out of your comet unless it has a slow attached. This encourages 
, But that item is not very appealing for a lot of casters.
The formula is 100 + 0.2 AP at level 18.
Assuming you have 500 AP (Generous, I'd say.) thats 200 damage TOPS. And that's before factoring in resistances and such.
Comet cooldown is 20 seconds, best-case scenario you MIGHT proc it twice in a fight. The cooldown of comet needs to scale down as the game gets later. That way Comet is your prime late-game damage mage go-to keystone.
Right now its Aery, because of cooldown. Aery can be proced every like.. 5-7 seconds? distance pending, obvs.. but
Asssuming you have 500 AP, Aery deals about 110 damage late game.... and by simple math, its OBVIOUS to anyone that Aery blows comet out of the water.
The ONLY advantage comet has is that it works better for long-range nukers, and it has a small AoE effect.
Meh I would agree aery needed a nerf, it was balanced on PBE when it did 10-40 dmg, it was still worth taking over electrocute, then they buffed it to 60 max base dmg. Unrivaled.
Aery is even better than Electrocute on Fizz, so..
Aery needs a nerf 100%. Not even a shadow of a doubt
