Why tank supports?

Its simple, really.

As a support, you need to get as many spells off as possible for maximum efficiency.

You can do two things to assist yourself in doing this.

A: Build cooldown reduction to increase the rate at which you output spells B: Build tank stats to increase how long you can fight without dying.

A combination of these will work wonders, which is why most popular supports are high utility tanks (or general high utility champions built tanky).

O.o I mean, you're not entirely wrong... but, I kind of disagree. 50 Blitz hooks that miss is technically a lot of spells, but none of them did anything. I'd say you're more focused on throwing down some successful spells, when it's required.

I love playing squishy supports like Lulu for example. She's my main, and I don't constantly use my abilities as soon as they're off cooldown. I wait for the right moments, occasionally poking with E + Q, but sometimes I need to E my ally instead.

Weird post haha.

Tanks usually have a lot of CC. Then they are tanky, so they have more time to 1) tank, and 2) lock down enemies. Also means they can survive an engage.

in proplay it´s mostly for early roaming - and soloq just follows up on the picks without having the right reassons to do it.
