Goes for being autofilled too, I'd mind much less if when I was autofilled it didn't affect my rating in the same way as a role I queued for.

So a "fill" main would be balanced around having a sub-50% win rate and still climbing?
There seems like there'd be something wrong with that.
People would just queue as fill and in champ select demand their role to game the system.
All they need to do, is look into giving a person that gets auto-filled some extra LP if they win. That's it. It'd make it suck less to get auto-filled, and it'd give auto-filled players more incentive to try and win with the role they were assigned.
No one likes getting auto-filled, but I just don't see it being a good idea to remove it altogether. A lot of players that want it removed are Bronze/Silver. Queue times will never be an issue at those ranks, so they feel like they were ripped off by the "broken" system when they end up getting auto-filled.
Also, Duos could abuse this quite a bit.
Perhaps double IP for being filled?
