I read recently of the possible addition of AP ratios to Shyvanna's W. With that, I can see a possible rise of Rylai's/Liandry's use in her kit as they add a slow and an additional 2%HP damage per second onto Shyvanna's W on top of the 10% from BORK and Bloodrazor and 2.5% from her E... All while significantly slowing the enemy being chased... Of course all along with their AP bonuses...
Do you think this will be the case? 
Raiku Kawisa2 votesNo, it shouldn't at least. The scalings are still weak. AP Shyvana is still not a thing. It is a extreme off-meta build with this change at best.
But this wont be a core build because Shyvana only cares about two things. Attack Speed, and surviving long enough for the Attack Speed to matter.

Raiku Kawisa1 votesFair enough but Udyr's ratios are much more consistant. .25 Ratio on his Phoenix Stance DoT, .45 on his Phoenix third attack, and .5 on his Turtle Shield.
Shyvana now has .1 on her W (25% of that for each auto while W is active). .6 on a long cooldown E, and .7 on her ult which only has a low CD if you attack alot. If AP Shyvana wasn't a thing with her E and R scalings I still dont see it being a thing with W.
Elindiir1 votesI think that it won't necessarily be super-groundbreaking, but it may tip the scales. People generally don't run AP on her right now because it only affects abilities that people don't use for the damage that scales. Her ult and her E have the POTENTIAL to be quite powerful in damage but getting her W going is a bigger priority. With the new scalings on her W, people will be more motivated to play her as a burstier AP diving fighter rather than an AD juggernaut.

She'll build RE and Swifties for the MS, plus Deadmans. Aside from that, the build will differ, but she'll abuse some key part of her kit. My guess is that she'll grab Rylai's so she can't be kited, or maybe Triforce or Nashors to keep her autos up to par damagewise.

Why not just go full tank? 
You'll be super sticky, melt squishies and be generally annoying and tanky as hell.
Elindiir1 votesInteresting build path too... Since Shyvanna's W is in the range of Abyssal Scepter... The amount of magic pen in that is enough for burning mechanics to effectively be true damage if someone isn't building MR.
BluePolarizer1 votesYou'll be dealing 150 magic AOE DPS with W that's effectively true damage just for sitting there, while having unignorable autos. You'll also have something like 3300 HP, 200 armor and 150 MR. Your autos still hurt too due to E. It's also pretty cheap.

. Her W scales decently will AD and gives back to AD damage. Though her E scales with AP. It's the on-hit damage which causes more damage than just E. And you'll end up with 20%CDR.
You'll be doing hybrid damage + wave clear with auto-attack ( thx to hydra). Save W+E engage instead.
-- Is like bork.. current hp, which doens't help against a Warlord Bloodlust keystone champ. That champ will melt you faster becuz of aggressive scaling lifesteal.
I like AD-tank shyv, but if you like AP-tanky, sure why not. .. for it's awesome health regen.

Shonjl1 votesThe most I see is Rylai possibly being added into the mix, but to be honest even that is not gonna happen, she is an Auto attack reliant champ, if she wants slows, she will just get Frozen Mallet. Which makes me wonder why people dont get that item much lol.
Elindiir1 votesI usually preferred Iceborn Gauntlet because of her AA modifier abilities. It is cheaper, has CDR (really important for keeping up burnout) and a lot of armor... I usually only got Frozen Mallet when most of the team was AP... which up until very recently, was extremely rare with all AD teams being almost as common as mixed teams....
