I feel like Yasuo is a better Juggernaut than Morde...

You have your two item power spikeitem 3031 item 3046

  • sustain/tank item 3022 item 3046 item 3812

Well but then you have even more, because high mobility, and a cc while still getting a passive shield...

To top it off, you also typically only get 3-4 items in a full game... and he out scales morde late game anyways... so...

yet Mordekaiser beats Yasuo

GigglesO2 votes

Only early game... past 3-4 items if yasuo picks up a maw then he pretty much instawins trades with his 100% crit.

Report for Wuju3 votes

why would you compare yasuo and mordekaiser ?

GigglesO2 votes

because yasuo feels like a juggernaut, and morde feels like a full damage squishy little bitch.

Selegun2 votes

Try building alittle differently and see if you feel tanky with a better build.

GigglesO2 votes

Tank items feel less tanky than building stereks + htgb + trinity...

Selegun1 votes

Need to buy the right items if you are looking to up your durability. What would you look to pick up if you are just thinking about a build?

GigglesO2 votes

Lol, you act as if I don't have any experience on Morde, when I'm actually in the top experienced players for morde...

https://championmasterylookup.derpthemeus.com/champion?champion=82 http://www.lolskill.net/top/skillscore?filterChampion=82&filterPlatform=NA

I've tried everything from ardent censor builds to zz'rot builds. Unless you build him damage he melts if the enemy has any sort of armorpen/magic pen and cc. If you build him damage unless you can keep his shield at full he melts...

There is that fine little zone between damaging the enemy and keeping his shield full in which he is allowed to exist. He also feels tankier in lower MMR's.

Selegun1 votes

I dont mean to imply if you are low or high rank, I'm merely looking to see what your thought process is while fighting a Yasuo.

Yeah, I know the feeling needing damage and durability and thats why I dont tend to pick up a trinity force against Yasuo and instead look to pick up 2-3 armor items when ever possible. From there Steraks into Liandry's is usually all the damage I need.

GigglesO2 votes

Late game you better hope he doesn't pick up a last whisperer with a maw... as soon as that maw pops he can just aa you to death with a 3 armor item build...

Selegun1 votes

Maybe, but so far it's worked in all but one of my games where I've very noticeably messed up against the enemy jungle.

That's the good thing about Liandry's, when you apply it correctly it won't pop Maw until it's to late for the shield to matter.

If you are just looking to vent after a loss I can respect that. I'm simply looking to compare notes on how you and your opponent plays in relation to my side of things to see if I can suggest anything you might be willing to try.

GigglesO2 votes

I know exactly what you are talking about with popping maw, but with yasuo all he has to do is keep autoing you after his maw pops with his bonus lifesteal and 100% crit. Its the same as beating trynd. You can get him low super easily, but then trynd just pops his ulti and kills you while you can't damage him...

Selegun1 votes

Can you elaborate a bit more? I've only ever seen Trynd in my games when I play bot so I don't know the match up as well as you. The only bit of info I can share is that damage is the wrong thought for fighting Trynd. You can't kill him, but if your resists are high and you have enough spell damage an even matchup should swing in your favor. If I had to pick a build before the fight I'd look to avoid trinity force into Trynd since it does not help you generate shield.

GigglesO1 votes

To elaborate, most damage matchups no matter how tanky you build, if the enemy built properly they can punch through your armor. A combination of lifesteal/maw passive, armor pen, and high sustained damage either through botrk + razors, or crit allows them to slowly whittle you down while you kill them.

All that is happening is you are having a giant aa contest since morde has no CC. So when they get that bonus lifesteal and shield from maw, if you can't finish them off right there they can just stand there and AA you until you die, and if you build tank their damage and lifesteal sustain IS higher than yours.

Morde is considered a #lowskill champion, which means that he typically wins matchups when he is able to outsmart the enemy team, not to outplay them. Especially since outplay is considered to be limited to high mobility #lcsbigplays champions. Which is what the game is currently balanced around.

Selegun1 votes

I see what you mean. Win quickly is all I've heard about the matchup and I cannot say I disagree.

What I can disagree with is the idea of out playing an opponent. You can very much outplay with an item build, it's simply not as celebrated as the mechanical outplay since by nature it's dramaticly less visible. This is a primary reason I enjoy watching and supporting players like SoloRenektonOnly and RistiuMMask as they frequently referance and explain these simple things for the benefit of their audience and less experienced players.

chipndip11 votes

Just cause you have an absolute fuck ton of games on Morde doesn't mean that much if you're hard-stuck Plat at max. Plat's not a bad rating, but I wouldn't throw out "in the top experienced players for Morde" without checking myself if I was just Plat at this point, especially if you're falling for the Yasuo noob trap.

Maybe ask Malicious Metal how to do it on Morde.

GigglesO1 votes

I never said I was pro, or lcs material I was saying i have experience.

I am in the top experienced players of morde, which means that I have a lot of experience on him...

You could be in bronze and have a lot of experience.

As a general comment, I lose very few lane matchups. The issue is in regards to lategame power, in which Juggernauts should feel on par with adc's (including non-ranged such as yasuo) and spell casters. In which he is currently in large being outmatched.

Not to bring the Morde main chat in here the one with van darkholme in it, and we discuss many different strats like stereks stacking + triforce, and there is one very sad topic that we discuss. How to win the game as morde against x champion, or lane against x champion. The only advice that the higher up than me players give the lower players is "you don't"...

Yea thats right, its not even me saying it.. its just a flat out "noone in this chat wins that matchup"

Yes you did, kinda. You said you're one of the top experienced Morde players solely based on your mastery score. That just means you adamantly play this one champion. 1.6 mil is nothing to sneeze at, but that needs to be accompanied by results. High plat is ALSO nothing to sneeze at, but that's well under the bar of "top experienced players" of any champion. I respect Plat as an achievement, but I have to blow the whistle on this one.

I am in the top experienced players of morde, which means that I have a lot of experience on him...

It's more like you just play him a lot. Higher ranked Morde players with less games could still probably teach you a thing or two just cause they got more mileage and coverage from their play than you did. Not being condenscending. It's the same way for me and my 2 million Sona mastery biting off of Clown.

You could be in bronze and have a lot of experience.

I mean, I guess? But is that experience well-rounded/fleshed out so that it'll reap results? No. That's the point I'm trying to make here. A lot of that experience is just "separate instances of X where I did the same thing I always do", so it doesn't really count for anything. Experience worth noting is experience that pushes you further on a character, or experience that's tried and tested to get you to the top of the competition. 1 million mastery in Challenger says more than 2 million in Diamond.

As a general comment, I lose very few lane matchups. The issue is in regards to lategame power, in which Juggernauts should feel on par with adc's (including non-ranged such as yasuo) and spell casters. In which he is currently in large being outmatched.

But that's a part of winning. Either end sooner or figure something out.

That's gonna happen sometimes. Like Kassadin into Zed? Zed wins free. Ahri into Syndra? Ahri wants out. Vayne into Sona? Field day for Sona unless Vayne's support can increase output by 50% to cover it. Shit happens, but that doesn't mean you have to be hard-stuck anywhere (I can still relate to being hard stuck. Last year took me 1k games to land Diamond, so don't get me wrong here. Felt good this year getting there in 300).

Shiznyte1 votes

considering the easiest way to outplay Zed's ult is by flashing at the right time to avoid his skill shots and Kass has Rift walk idk if i agree with that statement. I agree a champion like Talon would poop on kass, But late game Kass beats everything nothing is ever a free win vs Kass unless its an unfair fight like Mid ADC and Support in kass's lane because he lacks wave clear early on

GigglesO1 votes

You can actually completely pop his ulti with a zhonyas too. That way it doesn't even touch you. Also I'd say 99% of zeds pop r and then pop everything really fast all at once, so you might get lucky and even negate his whole combo.

Shiznyte1 votes

I know its a bit like a Frame perfect outplay But the shurikans have travel time you can dodge them quite easily. after zed ult he has to commit to a spin slash or an AA he cant do all three at once zed is very easy to outplay with flash, but that's just me. it wasn't always easy either for a while I'd get rekt by zed but I learned as a support if I don't flash at the right frame Zed kills me haha. Zed feels like a champion who is only good vs people who don't know how to play vs him. summoner 3 ,summoner 4 ,item 3157 all pretty much make zed a pain in the ass to play.

  • Kassadin is tooled to fight other ap champs. He also lacks long-ranged offenses.

  • Zed has long-ranged physical damage as a normal poking tool, and specializes in AD burst damage.

  • Kass can oom. Zed can't. Zed can potentially throw his poke as much as he needs to to whittle Kass down.

If Zed gets his way, he'll already have his lead before ults are even a factor.

I agree a champion like Talon would poop on kass

Yeah...cause it's the same concept. AD ranged poke vs. an AP damage shield and a very low poke range.

But late game Kass beats everything nothing is ever a free win vs Kass unless its an unfair fight like Mid ADC and Support in kass's lane because he lacks wave clear early on

No one's caring about late game 1v1s in this comparison. Even with that said, this is a bold statement.

Shiznyte1 votes

Zed's energy is actually his biggest weakness. Mana is more effective late game than energy because you can build mana items to get a larger pool, where energy is capped and being energy starved means bad news... IMO zed's biggest problem is that he can get energy starved. Just because Kass is great vs AP champions doesn't mean he is terrible vs AD. Its a rough match up early but to me its easier to play safe on a champion who you know out scales, than play aggro on a champion you know who will get out scaled. Once Kass builds item 3157 Zed cannot beat him. He also builds HP items early like item 3010 which help survive early. Zeds only chance is to get a kill pre 6 vs Kass if he wants to win. Knowing this as a Kass player it is easy to give up cs, call out Zed roams, and force Zed's hand. Kass also more times than not Takes TP, and can play safe and TP back to lanes when he is low with that CD. If Zed takes TP he most likely will not get a kill Pre 6 on the Kass, if he takes ignite he cannot match his late game split pushing. Also you can summoner 4 to out play most of zeds damage and kass not only has Flash but also has riftwalk. Time it well and zeds ult will be outplayed.

As for my bold statement Tell me a champion who is can 1v1 kass late game? I seriously think that there is no champion who can kill Kass late game 1v1... they will either die or he will run. The only way to beat Kass IMO is to shove a bunch of people into his lane before he gets enough items to become God-Tier-Kass.

chipndip11 votes

You're saying this like we live in a world where Hexdrinker doesn't exist, or we live in a world where Zed won't pen through Kass's entire bone structure with lethality.

Kassadin has no hard cc, so Zed's free to approach his offense on him from a variety of angles with a full guarantee that he'll be able to complete his rotations. If someone has an advantage, they'd be bad at the game if they didn't try to push it as far as they could, so why on Earth would we just imagine that Zed would just allow Kass to farm? Why would we assume he'd aggressively shove into turret all game instead of keep the wave in the middle/on his side so he can fish for damage?

As a side note: Being forced to flee from a fight is losing a fight. If Kass has to bail or die, he lost the 1v1 and he's trying to make the most of it.

As a further side note: I didn't post to start talking about Kass vs. Zed...

Shiznyte1 votes

How does pre 6 zed stop him from farming under a tower? Csing under tower is easy as heck to do and safe as heck... zed will likely roam. if zed wants to over extend and harass with his shadow to harm kass under tower he opens himself up to die to any outside forces. This match up is easier for Kass than it is for Zed, and all the pressure is on Zed to outplay Kass. Kass doesn't often shove waves so yeah you may zone him out for a bit, but a patient Kass will do just fine vs Zed i have played both sides of the match up. I really think the only way to stop Kass is bring help and take his tower or dive him before he is 6 with jungle help.

Also dying late game is losing being forced to flee when you have TP means you can just go right back to doing what you were doing. Running is not losing... running is staying alive and staying alive is winning vs Assassin's or if they send more than one person to answer you running is actually winning then.

Yasuo with item 3046 item 3022 item 1018 item 3047 (and Two def items of your choice) is Surprisingly Tanky. He will have 100% crit to do some great damage, a Focus shield that scales well with Def states, along with a good HP pool. His ult provides any armor pen he may need, and a Windwall to block a good chunk of damage and CC from ranged Champs. Add a summoner 1 to make sure Exhaust can't stop you and you have a pretty dangerous champion. His early game is great he can force most match ups out of lane and Farm for free not to mention CSing is very easy when you have no mana and short CD's. A good Yasuo player is extremely dangerous and so fast hes hard to catch let alone kill. I just don't understand how people say this Champion needs a rework or buffs when he is already quite good. You can also mix up your build and go full damage if you snowball to ruin Squishy Champions in like two hits.

GigglesO2 votes

This, all of this, Meanwhile unless you go squishy bitch morde you have 1 a hard time farming into damage 2 a hard time maintaining your shield 3 surviving long enough to do meaningful damage

Paroe2 votes

@thread item 3046 item 3031 item 3742 item 3748 item 3047 item 3193 is a far stronger build than frozen mallet. Sure you lack the slow, but you dont NEED the slow as yasuo. your Q is spammable.

Shiznyte1 votes

Gargoyles and yasuo is a complicated mix. you dont wanna nerf your damage that's why they don't build it often. I agree this build could work and you would be very tanky but your damage could be lacking. also not enough magic resist in the build but vs Full AD comps this would work. IMO you don't need a tiamat on yasuo because his Q and E act as AA resets or things to do in the down time of an AA.

INB4 malicious metal comes...

Just think about this MM

Yasuo is a mobile juggernaut with knockup chain and windwall XD

We've reached a point where people that make Yasuo QQ threads like these should be treated a type of way...and not a good way.

Like HOLY HELL give it a rest.

GigglesO1 votes

Its actually a morde QQ thread...

chipndip11 votes

On second glance, just realized.

Shiznyte2 votes

Morde needs love since they nerfed his XP passive. He was only ever a pickable champion for one worlds scene and it wasn't even the season, it was a bad patch released too late in the season to make sure it was balanced.

GigglesO1 votes

Well and then they gutted rylis which they admitted would be core on him, which is why they didn't give him more mobility or stats...

Shiznyte1 votes

the Rylies nerf wasn't aimed at morde he was just collateral damage of the nerf. Too many champions were abusing rylies it needed a nerf sadly.

GigglesO2 votes

I don't disagree with this statement at all. I honest just believe morde needs some tlc. Even some bug fixes would go along ways.

Shiznyte1 votes

I agree a nice Morde needs some TLC he is a fun champ to play and I enjoy the Bonk when you stack it up and one shot someone who had no idea it was coming lol

Ironclad Dragon1 votes
  • Juggernaut
  • Yasuo

Pick one.

Shiznyte1 votes

I think the idea is that Yasuo is a Juggernaut and shouldn't be... and champions labeled as juggernauts are actually quite weak right now. (no I'm not trying to say Yasuo is weak)

Ironclad Dragon1 votes

Being able to deal and take damage alone does not make a Juggernaut. Juggernauts are tanky and do deal damage, but they also have little-to-no mobility. At most, a Juggernaut may have a movement speed boost of some kind, but they are not considered mobile champs. Yasuo is a mobile champ; provided there are ample targets for him to E to, he can either chase very well or escape very well. Juggernauts aren't great at either of those things. When two Juggernauts meet, they stand and bash each other until the better man wins. Yasuo can dance circles around a Juggernaut. By definition, he isn't a Juggernaut. Comparing him to Mordekaiser is unfair because the two are not truly alike. That Yasuo can build only a few damage items and the rest tanky, and be a lethal opponent, does not make him a Juggernaut. That makes him Yasuo; it is a symptom of his kit.

Shiznyte1 votes

I think the OP was mostly reffering to the fact that Yasuo can do the job of a juggernaut better than any current juggernaut... not that yasuo is a juggernaut. Yasuo can be w/e he wants to be which is a very unique thing in LoL since most champions don't have this luxury.
