Mordekaiser Glitches and Concerns

So I can't create a discussion on PBE so I'll do it here.

There's a few bugs I noticed while playing new Mordekaiser.

  1. If Mordekaiser recalls while his W is active, it interrupts the recall animation when the W ends.
  2. Sometimes Morde's autoattack animation will not activate even if the hit goes off. It's very rare, and I've only had it happen autoing after W'ing and Q'ing.
  3. The stairs in Mordekaiser's recall animation disappear too soon. Around the end it's like he's underground instead of walking into hell.

Now for my concerns. I know it's not really on purpose but the new Morde reminds me a lot of Darius. I don't like Darius's personality so this isn't much of an issue for me, but that brings Darius's problems on to Morde now.

I'm M7 on old Morde. I really liked him. I can see a lot of issues with his current design. When it came to old Morde his ghost was a dynamic aspect of his kit. As the game changed Morde's strength changed because of his ult's ability. Currently, he doesn't really have such a gimmik in his kit. It means he's much more stat checky then before. As he is right now, he'll most likely need to be hot-nerfed on release, and it feels that whether he wins or loses a fight rests purely on whether he has the items to win or not. You also took away his sustain and replaced it purely with damage.

Old Morde could W his allied jungler and practically full heal them if they're clearing raptors or wolves helping them clear other areas. There are no unique interactions like that with him anymore and those were the parts of his kit i really liked.

Well I won't say I don't like the champ. He's still unique and interesting, and it seems he'll do well against other melee matchups such as yasuo so that's good. I will miss him being strong against akali because of his old E cooldown however. Visually no complaints whatsoever. I love his joke.

I really like the new Mord.

On the bugs Iv seem a few as well.

Iv run into the melee automation cancel bug where it hits but he does not swing fully.

Iv seen E not pull people (even minions) that were clearly hit.

Iv seen His Ult get all buggy when you Ult Talon (or someone with a wall Dash) and the Zone edge is in a Wall and they Dash/Leap over the wall and get stuck.

Yuumi Ult interaction.

They will sort it out.

Morde doesnt remind me of anyone but Morde His old ult was a terrible gimmick, its targeting was terrible, more time was spent keeping the ghost from wandering off or attacking the wrong target. Buggy as all hell and you pretty much either ulted the carry for a good ghost, a mage for a subpar ghost, or a tank just to survive. It wasnt dynamic, the skill itself was terrible, level 1 and 2 were mostly irrelevant damage wise. The amount of times I ulted someone when they were low, and they just pop a potion and its all good I started meme building at the end just to make the ad ratio on it work The W heal in the jg was really nice, but was not balanced lets be real. You could get chunked out, you walk over to raptors and walk back into lane full hp.

As another M7 Morde main. the ghost sucks ass. Yes they could code it like tibbers but that would mean fixing the almost 100 bugs that are with the ghosts. fights are simply "oh they have [insert adc here]? we win". It felt really bad. The W heal is obnoxious only in mid lane as you can walk over to raptors or wolves and heal to full. His kit is designed for a bot lane AP Juggernaut BUT nobody plays it there because low mobility melee champs are garbage in bot. So the fact that riot is pulling him out of the gutter and fixing 90% of his bugs with one ult change I can get behind it
