She's the only champion to still provide the "100-0 with no skillshots or reaction time" playstyle.

AP malphite also does the job vs ADCs. It's weird though, we are entering days where traditional mages burst faster than assassins.

Doesn't matter if they're not called "assassins." If your only counterplay is summoners or Zhonya's, you might be an assassin.

Annie doesn't have the mobility to be an assassin.
Two things:
- Annie doesn't have the mobility of an assassin
- Annie has no escapes or resets
Mosts assassins can get in, nuke the target AND get out reliably. Annie doesn't have the luxury of either unless she uses her 300 second cooldown Flash, and even then she can only choose one or the other.
