Riot, Have you forgotten about Sion W?

I like playing tanks every now and then. Sion in m opinion is a very good tank, but he is weak as fuck right now in laning (and jungle too if you want to play him there) mostly because of his W huge nerf that Rito did a good while back. When he was released yes he was too strong, but now he can't stand a chance in lane just because one thing, this damn W reactivation time.

The time to detonate your shield is so long that in lane you will never ever have a chance to do it before the enemy burn trough it with dps (i'm talking early game mostly). Yes when you ahve tons of health it's fine, but before that you cant play around that safely because you know that it's not reliable. I think the reactivation time is 2-3 seconds (can't remeber) wich is huge.

Why it can't be 1.5 seconds?

They do like to give champions windows of power. For mages, when their cooldowns are down, you know it's safe to engage. For Naut and Sion and Janna, you know that popping the shield reduces the enemy threat by removing the shield buff.

Now, maybe 1.5 seconds is enough, but I think having a delay makes sense.

Riot did comment that they're looking into Sion and Sejuani. They don't want to look into buffing then too soon since they were dominante months ago. It's not the best news nut it is better news then other news.

If I may give my opinion on this, I do not see an issue with his current delay. When I play Sion I use his shield to either get a free trade in, or ahead of time. For example, lets say I'm going against a Garen, when I see him coming in I use my W and the shield stops most if not all his Q damage, or if I'm waiting in the bush for the enemy to come close, once i see him getting close enough i start charging my W and my Q, then with the knock up i can secure the W pop hits him. However my play-style is more reaction based with the W, so I can see how the longer reactivation could screw someone who is trying to use it to poke. Instead of less reaction time, I would just like the passive to be increased a tad bit, that way you can reach the tankiness you wanted, and either way most of his damage is from his Q.

I'm no Sion god though so don't take my way of playing like the only way.

Whenever I've laned against Garen as Sion it just seems like his Q alone undoes every part of your kit except your ult. Slow him with E? Removes it with Q. Try to land your Q on him? Silence interrupts it. Try to shield-pop? Q removes all of the shield.

I don't know, I think the delay is actually quite fair. (Coming from someone who's favorite top laner is Sion)

With the exception of careful planing, I don't think the ability should be a (have your cake, and eat it too) mechanic. This means you have to make a few choices about whether you use it for damage, or for the shield. And if you use the shield reactionary, Then you probably won't be able to get the blast. (which I feel is a fair trade off)

That said, all you have to do is cast the ability a second or two prior to your engagement if you want to use your W for damage.
