People here arguing about which dude is Rank 1 vs who is rank 2, when half the playerbase is below Gold, and when those people you are talking about could frop from 1st to 2nd in a matter of days. You do realize that claims such as "The game is 100% dependent on botlane" CANNOT be refuted or backed up in any way by looking at who are the 10 highest-ranked dudes on a server, right ?

I don't remember where exactly I saw this, but there was a poll done by some guy with LCS/LEC pro players. One of the question was "which role do you feel has the most impact" -> Jungler & Mid far above everyone else, Support then, and finally ADC/Top. Even in competitive play, where team actually know how to play for an ADC (peel, slow down a game, understand what powerspikes and power curves are ...), in an environment which could seem optimal for ADC to play in, they are still ranked 4th by pro themselves. Support has, obviously, more impact, but still comes after Mid & Jungle. I will try to find this survey if I have a bit of time.

First drakes don't matter. The drakes have been nerfed since S9, and are far less impactful, unless you get the Dragon Soul. However, if botlane has a role to play in determining which team is going to take the first few drakes, this is equally determined by midlane, and above all, junglers. If your mid is perma shoved in, or if your jungler is 2 level down, it doesn't matter how fed you are botlane, you won't take the drake. Hence: stop blaming bot for Drakes when everyone - besides maybe toplaners in soloQ - should have an impact on how they are being done and controlled.

In soloQ and below, say, platinum, ANY player can ward more than their support most of the time, and than their jungler 99% of the games. Supports on both side don't know how to ward, and if you want to blame someone, blame yourself for probably not warding enough. The notions of "controlling an objective", "denying vision" and so on, are completely useless anyway, as most of the time objectives will be done in a completely random manner when the jungler feels like it or after a teamfight.
-
ADCs are good to win extended, "proper" fights where they have both time and space to deal damage. This essentially never happens in soloQ, and most of the time, fights are decided by who is getting caught or OS before any real fight happens, or who is lost on the map. In this kind of "fiesta"/constant skirmishes, ADC do not shine. Bruisers & high-burst mages do, and, to a lesser extent, tanks/dudes with a lot of CC, who can make one big rotation of spells/CC.
-
Botlanes FEELING impactful is because Support tends to be "playmaker" picks (engage with Leona, Alistar ..., catch with Lux, Zyra ...) and it is therefore quite easy to SEE Supports doing things in fights; and ADC are, by nature, less likely to die in teamfights than frontliners, hence whenever a TEAM is winning, ADC are going to pickup easy kills/assist. In a team that is already winning, ADC will often have a shiny KDA, a good creep score due to more vision control/being safer in sidelanes/etc, much more than some other champions who might die more. However, the causality is not "(Seemingly) Good botlane -> Insane impact -> win games", it's "Winning as a team -> Botlaners having juicy stats & flashy plays". Correlation does not equal causality.

Queue up as ADC or Support sometimes, to really enjoy this sweet, massive impact on the game, as well as the almost-orgasmic sensation of being connected to your other botlaner who will perfectly understand you so you can work as a Perfect Duo.
To BabyGhoul:
Out of your own last games, the majority have been won by midlaners or toplaners. In one of your games, you (support) & your ADC when 6/33 combined, and the game still lasted for 46 minutes, because your toplaner was insanely ahead and kept you there You can check that in your last ranked, games where both you & your ADC have had an impact (damage dealt, warding, KDA - not perfect, but still a way to get some intel on how the game went), are exactly games where your team was doing well, especially your midlaner. It really is unclear (probably because it is False ?!) how botlane could be so impactful when as soon as you check what the statistics tell us, you realize that the performance of a botlane is heavily correlated with the overall team performance, and when you can find countless examples of soloQ where botlanes were ahead but an ennemy 15/2 Akali/Qiyana/Katarina/Talon wins the game by himself regardless.
