What champion play impresses you?

In most of the games I'm in somebody picks a champion like Yi, Riven, Nasus or someone else that has fairly simple mechanics and can easily carry late game due to their kit. However, I'm curious - what champion are you guys impressed by when you face them and they're played right? I'm a jungle main and I've had some pretty solid Shaco and Olaf games where my teammates have been pleasantly surprised by my performance.

Personally, when I see Braum played correctly I'm pretty impressed. His ult can be difficult to hit more than 1 or 2 champions with and I can't tell you how many times I've raised his shield in the wrong direction and felt like a moron. What about you guys?

About three months ago, i would have said Urgot, since everyone was shitting on how bad he was. I'd played him before, and he wasn't that tough, but it still really impressed me when I saw someone absolutely carry with him.

These days, I'm consistently impressed when I see someone use Nami really well. Her bubbles are so hard to land, and a good Nami is one of the best possible supports in the game.

People are always pretty impressed when I play a good Malphite--I always laugh cause all I do is stack armor. Their ADC tries to duel me and kills himself because I've got ~95% damage reduction and thornmail.

Oh... and River Shen... ALWAYS impressive.

That's true. I remember last season lustboy got a 4 man Aqua Prison, and it was amazing. I can't find a video of it, it was in the red side bot jungle, next to blue buff iirc.

But here are a couple of excellent lustboy Nami plays Flash Save Double Bubble uhh...

Riven is pretty hard to master when you account animation cancelling - which I think is a bullshit mechanic. I still respect whilst simultaneously hate really good Rivens. She does OP damage after one kill but to consistently dodge everything whilst animation cancelling almost every attack is awe some.

Yasuo is another one that impresses me. This is probably because of his kit. It's designed to get near enemy teams and make epic plays. His Windwall is game breaking in a good way. I love it when Yasuos skirt around their Windwall with Sweeping Blade 1v1ing an fed ADC and winning. I can't do it and it's extremely calculative to do. I'm not so impressed by his ults though, Riot could have definitely made that one more interesting.

A really good support player. Especially range ones. Playing against a Janna that destroys everyone's engage is impressive. Melee supports tend to be really tank like Braum.

Azir. Shurima Shuffling is cray cray.

One time I played against and Olaf that just went crazy all game. He didn't give a crap about getting damaged or taking early minion hits. He was pretty scary granted that I was playing Wukong.

A Vayne that can actually 1v5 mid game with hardly any help from his/her team members.

Junglers and Supports, IMO, have some of the best "plays". I mean sure ADCs make plays but that's their job, is to kill everyone. But Junglers or Supports can set up their whole team and it looks/feels amazing when they do.

Junglers - Shaco, definitely. A good Shaco is terrifying to play against, and can be impressive to watch. Good use of Q jukes, ambushes, clever box placement. Honestly as much as people hate Lee, he can make plays but I don't think its that impressive.. even when I play him I'm like "holy shit why is this so easy." Otherwise, anyone who plays a "non-meta" or unconventional jungler and does it well tends to impress me. Saw someone take Leona to the jungle and dominated. Scary as fuck.

Support - Thresh, of course. He's designed to make plays. You know the pain of a bad Thresh, and can come to expect the kind of plays from a good Thresh, but a God Thresh is poetry in motion. There was an LCS game where Thresh hooked way ahead of the enemy Janna, and then Janna flashed into the hook, and whether it was planned or not, it was fucking impressive. Also, anyone who can play Bard well gets my stamp of approval.

Braum, IMO isn't all that hard. You Q people, shield stuff, and generally run around very hard to kill. I laugh when I am kiting like 3 or 4 of them and they just can't kill me even at early levels.

I've also seen a few good Poppy's this season - each time they were on my team, and I quickly went from bummed out about having a Poppy on my team to pleasantly surprised. Fed Poppy wrecks.

oh god ya i saw a beastly lee player he insec like it was nothing. did it so well. i mean its one thing to insec not much to it. but how cleanly and consistently he did it. was just jaw dropping.

then there are udyr players. some are insane, while other like myself leave much to be desired.

i knew a guy who was really good with skarner way back in season 3ish. before he got changed.

Kog Maw. Some people probably think he's op and easy, I say in a meta of mobility that is just free and underrated, a guy who starts with 325 ms and no escapes who does well against assassins is good. Also if they are good at hitting ult. I don't like facing them, but definitely respect them because I absolutely hate meta picks. There are definitely more, but he comes to mind.

Champs like Lee Sin i just don't appreciate because their kit seems broken and overloaded, (was it skill that he outplayed or too many jumps, a free high damage knockback, shield, low cooldowns, no mana?) yeah you learn the champ to do well, but my problem is that Lee has been good for seasons on end and riot stopped caring about Aatrox the moment they released him, and ignore other champs.

champs that don't necesarily impress me but I like to see. I like Xerath players because I play Xerath. And that ult is kinda pretty difficult to hit, it can be easily dodged just by walk juking not to mention the amount of champs who can just dash, shield, heal, etc. Probably better used in team fights or on a stunned target but feels like you're supposed to snipe guys. Skarner because I love him.

Syndra Gets a three man stun to her right, while slowing someone on her left while deleting another person in front of her and still gets away. When played at a pro level I am always impressed with her.

Basically those champs who can outplay you. Yasuo , Zed , Ekko , Leblanc , Nidalee are some examples. I've seen a Nida main running away with like 100hp and almost no mana from a full hp Ezreal. She was able to dodge all his skill shots in cougar form for a fair while. Then she jumped into a brush and got enaugh mana for a spear. She went into human form, landed his spear, flashed towards him (dodging another skillshot with that), transformed again and executed him. It was pretty epic.
