Everything wrong with the ranked system

I've been spamming the same shitt half year now, and won't stop until things gets changed. And no, this is not a typical crypost about matchmaking.

As you know, in Master/Challenger people practically have to play one game every day if they don't want to get hit by inactivity. Roughly, this means if someone climbs to the top tiers in the start of the season he/she must play around 300 extra games. The problem is, there is absolutely zero sense doing so. I sorta "quited ranked" long ago and have been playing 1 ranked per day since then and it has been so fucking annoying + unrewarding to wait the season to finish. After 7 months in a row in Challenger and hundreds of games later, now when I have to participate in just 12-13 forced matches more, I realise I most likely won't be keeping Challenger rank in SoloQ. Why? Well, LP gains are negative and the LP needed for Chall is rising. At least I'll get that Haribo Matador Mix for being Chall in Flex...

7 months in Challenger, then 1 week in Master incoming = Master rewards. It's a big error that nothing else have affect than one's position on the final day. This is the second reason alongside the nasty decay settings why one should never climb in high elo ranks until it's the right time. It's all about timing honestly, my mistake was to spam ranked way too early. Sounds dumb, but If I had fulfilled 200-300 games in autumn instead of 800 in spring. I would have saved energy and increased chances for Challenger rewards (my experience tells it is easy to maintain good WR/LP gains during the first 50-150 games).

Riot, If you want me to play ranked in the future seasons before 1-2 months their end, you have to get rid of this outright cancerous inactivity system or make changes how you measure rankings in general. I know too lax inactivity settings would cause smurfing problems, but nevertheless something has to be done. Nothing encourages me now to hop in ranked directly when it starts, it will feel like a never ending path because your seasons are overlong, at least in my opinion. The fact that the best players are allowed to start climbing when they want, but not able to select when they want to stop breaks the whole idea of ranked. Why play ranked when it's still 300 days until season is over? Why the fuckk even be Challenger 1 month when 1 day is enough?

I would also like to point out how placing the reward day exactly under Worlds is favoring some and punishing others. See, I'm a Gragas OTP, meaning I hardly play or want to play other champions. Riot have always nerfed Gragas to his weakest state during Worlds and this affects my ranked aswell. Of course, "the rules are same for everyone", but having one meta solving the entire season's effort is quite unfair.

One more thing to mention about inactivity: I had a strange experience. I once lost 400 LP due to decay, but regained them like in 4 days and furthermore earned 200 bonus LP compared to what I had when I started to decay. Naturally I was put with better LP gains since my MMR didn't drop while inactive, but it felt like abusing because the LP gains remained very good even when I had regained my original amount. Don't know if it was just luck or arranged, but whatever I suspect there might be a hole in the system. It might be actually possible to just spam ranked early and collect a good amount of LP, then drop to dia1 by being inactive, play 1 game per month and wait until it's the best time to get back to your LP.

TL;DR Everything's wrong with the ranked system (post handles Master/Challenger issues). Riot, don't forget to honor Flex Challengers with Haribo Matador Mix boxes. Deeply disappointed if you won't. item 3070 Gragas item 3070

Riot expects that if you are high enough to be challenger, then you must be pretty serious. One game a day is nothing compared to what most people play.
