I Feel As If I Am Getting Ripped Off -This needs to end.
I have purchased a lot a lot a lot of RP and used it on the chest bundles ever since the hextech system came out. The money I have spent on just he RP for hextech bundles alone is I believe is close to $500.00 or more. Unfortunately I owned every champion in this game before the hextech system came out and I play enough that I can easily purchase new champions with a mass amount of IP I have saved up. So my problem is as follows: When I purchase a chest and the only thing I get or at least over half of what I get in each chest bundle is a champion shard I am becoming essentially ripped off. (especially in one particular case when all 11 of the unlocks were champion shards.) I also have several skin shards that keep getting duplicated and repeated over and over again as well as skin shards I already own........I understand the blue essences can be used in the new mastery system but I do not feel like that is adequate or proportionate or even necessary that blue essence be used in champion mastery 7. (It feels like a stop gap measure you created in order to do something about the blue essence problem.)
I would also like to point out that I'm not talking about chests and keys you earn through playing the game I am talking about Real Monies spent on RP that go toward the hextech system. When real currency is involved and goes to a game to buy ( or to have a chance at getting) new content and all you receive is old content that is a really really crooked system, that hoodwinks people out of real money. To put it into perspective say you spent 100.00 on RP to buy only chests and you only receive 20% of usable material from that 100.00 then you have plainly just been ripped off, if not ripped off then you have just basically participated in a Gambling operation because real money was involved......While I do not think this practice is necessarily illegal as casinos use this type of system all the time. I do wonder about the appropriate legal measures put in place. Are under age kids essentially gambling with their parents credit cards? Could a local or federal judge be convinced that Riot has indeed created a type of gambling operation? ( As a student of Criminal Justice, I do not think it is too far fetched to believe a judge or a state and federal tax code has been violated with the current system being used as it is, If of course measure were put in place to ensure that nobody got something they already owned then there would be no legal question whatsoever......However that is not the current or past case.)
My question for riot is.. Are you running a casino slot machine type operation? Are you taking real money from people and having them play essentially a virtual slot machine with hopes of getting something they want? ( This practice of course is not illegal but ) do you riot and your Chinese parent company have the proper legal paperwork to being doing this kind of operation and are you paying the proper taxes on this kind of operation? I sincerely ask because I feel like I as a long time player am being ripped off. It feels as If I am quite literally playing a slot machine using real money for a virtual good that I may or may not get. I would only like serious responses to my query. As I am deeply concerned. Or perhaps I am mistaken and you could point me toward a few U.S. legal cases that have been ruled on in regardless to a similar type of situation.
