Chests Turned into blue essence?

So April fools is not till tommorow...Why did my 5 chests turn into 5 individual pieces of a of blue essence? It gives me the option to craft each of them into blue essence. 5 chest = 5 individual blue essences. I'm hoping it is joke.....Not that funny considering I feel like owned skins have disapeared and My silver border from last season is gone.
