Why I think starting rank immediately is smart

Assuming your previous mmr is higher than the average, the numbers of bad players doing placement is higher at season start making it easier to stomp lane and snowball. If you're not good though it may be better to wait it out and let the better players climb so you don't have to risk playing against them. Just my two nickels.

But wouldn't that also mean you're just as likely to get paired with idiots and lose all 10 placement games right off the bat?
