Can Mages have another keystone?

Most mages only have 2 keystones they can effectively take but other champions have like 3 to choose from. It may be all they need but I'd like to have more choices to make instead of having 2 choices that we are kind of forced to take.

Ryze Fiddlesticks are the only ones I can think of

Me. On Ryze. Cuz Thunderlord's is bad on him, imo.

I take it on Veigar, he doesn't need more damage and the crazy speed boost has gotten me out of a lot of sticky situations.

I also like it on Ziggs for the same reason, and I used to take it on Jhin before they specifically made DFT the greatest thing ever on him, and it's still very fun on him.

Chogath Galio Morgana Shaco TwistedFate Varus Vladimir Viktor MonkeyKing are champions that come to mind that it could be very useful on.

I agree. I'm not particularly fond of Deathfire or Thunderlord on some casters. I honestly think Thunderlord should be removed entirely though, it has too much flexibility and utility and tends to choke out other keystones.

Some characters aren't even worth taking a keystone on.

My Anivia Mastery page is 15/15/0, because none of the keystones are really worth it on her (to me). Especially since the ones that seem magey (Deathfire's though, Thunderlords) scale more with AD.

Disagree. Thunderlord's is good on anyone, it's just straight up more damage. On top of that, Stormraider's gives you some pretty fantastic kiting or chasing ability.

Keystone is always worth it, on every champion.

stormraiders for a rewq rotation

I think what we're really missing is a mage specific keystone.

ADC has Ferver, melee fighters have warlord's, supports have windspeaker's, melee skirmishers and juggernauts have Grasp, tanks have Strength.

Yea, all of mages can use Thunderlord's because Thunderlord's is at least decent on literally every champion in the game, but that doesn't make it a mage keystone. Deathfire is extremely niche to the point of it only being good on like five mages, and it's actually better on certain AD champs (Jhin comes to mind). And Stormraider's is another vague one that can be used on much more than mages, and on top of that, it's not exactly optimal on most champions.

To reiterate, we need a Mage specific Keystone.

Tanks only have Strength of Ages, lol. Grasp is just damage and healing, neither of which is good because tanks are immobile and regularly autoing with them is pretty hard on everyone but Maokai or Nunu.

Even then, sustain isn't what tanks need.

In top lane maybe.

In top lane maybe.

If you have to sacrifice tankiness in team fights to survive the laning phase, you shouldn't lane.

And most tanks don't. Amumu, Sejuani, Gragas, Nunu, Warwick, Zac, and a few others only jungle.

But then we have tanks built for top, like Sion and Poppy. Yes they can jungle, but Riot primarily balances them around toplane.

Sion's W passive synergizes better with Strength of Ages anyway. Malphite, Maokai and Poppy all get more defensive tools out of their max health as well, so Strength of Ages is better on them too, people just can't make it through the laning phase without the sustain on Grasp.

Tanks who top: Sion Maokai Poppy Malphite Shen - All of them except Shen and Poppy are likely better with Strength of Ages than Grasp.

Tanks who jungle: Amumu Elise Gragas JarvanIV Nunu Rammus RekSai Sejuani Skarner Udyr Warwick Zac - Significantly more of the tank roster. All build Strength of Ages.

Even if you argue that Strength of Ages and Grasp are equally good for tanks, the OP said every class gets 3 keystones except mage.
