Off-Meta OP Picks: Sion ADC

Welcome to the first, and hopefully last off-meta op picks. This is a thing I'll continue whenever I find something that seems to work, when it seems like it shouldn't. Today, we're looking of course, at Sion.

Why would you ever go Sion ADC? Am I retarded? Probably, but for the sake of this "guide" I'll go over why it works, when it works, and what to build. Let's get started then, I've got a lot of explaining to do.

In a meta favoring marksmen such as Lucian , Vayne ,Graves etc, it's a good time as ever to pick Sion. All three of those champions listed suffer from extremely low health, all throughout the game. They compensate this with damage, giving them an offensive tool at the cost of weak defenses. This is where Sion comes in. Due to Sion's Q: Decimating Smash, he can poke down immobile marksmen the easiest, but once you get used to it, you can land it on those with dashes like Vayne and Graves. With no AD, a level 1 fully charged Decimating Smash can do 100 damage, not to mention the potential for a follow up with your support.

Any form of CC-damage can be a real pain for any ADC. If his Q wasn't enough, his ult, Unstoppable Onslaught is the ultimate bot lane engage tool. Line it up with the enemy Kog'Maw, and boom. The minimum damage with no AD is around 150, and that's when activated right in front of them. From near max distance, it allows you to combo with a fully charged Q.

So yeah, I've listed ways Sion works, but why bot lane? Because that's where the squishes are at. A support for Sion is nice, preferably someone like Soroka who can brush away damage, but he's the one going to be setting up the plays, something unusual for an ADC.

Don't just choose Sion ADC regardless of lane opponent, I swear to god, you'll get pissed at seeing Ezreal. Instead, try to pick him against immobile ADC's, someone like Ashe , Sivir ,MissFortune etc. That is the lane where Sion will go 2/0/0, I promise you.

You're going to build something like this: item 3748 item 3009 item 3071 item 3083 item 3143 item 3053 +item 3340 .

Titanic Hydra will be you're first item to rush, since it gives damage and health, two things Sion needs. From there, grab boots, Black Cleaver, and then focus full tank items. At this point, Sion's damage will fall off hard, so it's good to give him extra tank, so at least he's not useless during teamfights.

Anyways, go ahead and try it out in solo queue, I guarantee you this stuff works, lol.

Those aren't enough damage items for Sion to take up an ADC slot. His damage scaling is decent, but his AD ratios are rather low. Either go full AD or leave bot lane to a real DPS champ.
