Alright so, I've always been puzzled as to how people can duck ziggs' bouncing bomb, yet tristana and kha'zix can't leap over caits trap or jinx's snare? IT MAKES NO SENSE!!!!!

Z Axis op.
It's things like this that remind me that League is technically a 2D game.
There is no Z axis thats the problem :D it's a 2d game, ziggs bomb are simply coded with a hitbox like this : XXXXXXX XX

They can't leap over Zigg's minefield either.
Ziggs minefield exploding under a jumper's feet? Priceless.

Gameplay > Reality.
At the end of the day LoL is a game that's trying to be competitive and fun, it's not meant to be a simulation of reality. In several cases Riot has sacrificed intuitive mechanics for balanced mechanics as well. Most games only let you hold 2 swords tops.
and on the side of things concerning competition and balance: granting sudo-untargetability/invulnerability mid-jump to a wide range of champions would make their jump skill considerably more powerful, giving them a monstrous buff that such champions really aren't balanced around having.
I mean - Fizz is extremely annoying due in large part to a very short-ranged jump that grants him untargetability. Looking at champions like Vladimir, Fiora, and Yi - you can also tell untargetability was a very large part of their power budget, and using such a mechanic well is critical to mastering them.
Giving a massive defensive spike to a champion like Tristana that actually has the potential to retreat over walls and has a really respectable AA range? Not ideal.
