Their are a lot of Hard counters to Karthus I just want to know if he counters anyone in the game or is he just allowed to be hard countered
He got a VU but he still gets shut down so easily.
Sion got buffed the supports got buffed why is he left out in the cold?
Karthus's job in the laning phase is basically to farm and maybe pick up some kills or assists with Requiem. He is not about winning lane; he is about winning the game.
Karthus could probably win lane against Azir. It is basically if there was a tier list for mages strength in laning it would be Azir at the bottom followed by Karthus.

He's a teamfighting champion with global map pressure. A strong champion with weak laning.
Would giving Karthus that Doom Bot wall of pain with the armor and mr shread be too much of a buff?
I don't think he's quite weak at laning phase. His Q spam can easily turn around a minion wave. I think why people think he's so weak in laning is because of his health.
He might be OK against Akali.

He was considered a counter to Yasuo even before his half dozen or so nerfs, so I assume that he dumpsters that lane now.
Karthus as a champion isn't necessarily expected or required to win lane, tho. His main priorities are just getting his Tear and dying as little as possible, then transitioning into a teamfighting god.
