Well I went 4 wins and 6 losses in my first ever placement matches (I was unranked last season) and got bronze 4. While my friend (he was unranked last season as well), went 2 wins and 8 losses but got silver 5. Wtf Rito?
KVbqbFsC8e2 votesAre you sure your "friend" was unranked? Did he play in any previous seasons? An unranked player going 2-8 and getting Silver 1 isn't something that actually happens.

no, it's actually what happens if you are a true unranked and never played any ranked
silver is nearly guaranteed then
usually not silver 1 though
Breaku1 votesI'd have to look at the individual matches, but the number of wins and losses doesn't matter. It's who you beat, and who beats you.
Vizulix1 votes? SIlver 1? he got silver 5, and yes he was unranked

well, lolking says me that you lie http://www.lolking.net/summoner/na/68502687#ranked-stats you played s6 or pre-season, i am not sure
it shows 9 games for s6, 1 win 8 losses, maybe you didn't finish your placements but it doesn't matter, you weren't treated as a fresh acc
your friend having a fresh acc was nearly guaranteed to get silver, which he did. you, having played ranked before were reset and put to bronze like silvers were
too bad you didn't finish your placements and didn't have a chance to get the silver border for s6 and stuff... and if you played pre-season it was purely silly
