Does Nunu's passive work on the target he's auto-attacking?

Question. Because currently I have the feeling that it doesn't. Well, he obviously gets the AS bonus but I get the feeling that the cleave damage is not getting applied to his primary auto-attack target (like it would with Titanic Hydra). Which would be a pity because I had a nice idea for an AD bruiser Nunu that uses Triforce and Titanic Hydra and without the passive damage applying to the primary target that idea kinda loses a lot of effectiveness [zombie-nunu-tears]

Can anyone confirm or deny whether this is the case and whether it's supposed to happen or not? Thanks!

The AS is the only thing that happens by hitting the target to proc the passive. The cleave just hits other targets. I'm pretty sure its to work like that (its like tiamat, it doesn't do bonus damage to the target you are hitting).
