Can we stop and talk about Vel'koz?

- Viable in 2 separate roles
- Always above 50% win rate, strong at every stage of the game
- Highest kill range in game, one of three champions with longest effective range
- Extremely high damage potential AND burst
- More than 2000 AOE true damage in rotation
- Has low CDs and mana costs
- Multiple viable item buildpaths and skill orders
- Reliable and fast waveclear
- Very strong when fighting from behind/can kill you even if he's 0/5
- Sick poke and kiting
Despite all this, he's in my eyes the most balanced champion in game. He's polar opposite of "ball of stats" type of champion, fighting him is never a stat check. When he's ahead, he feels really strong and powerful but also has clear counterplay. He can outplay enemies and kill them despite being 0/5, he can stall 5/22 game and let his team transition into late-game.
The fact is, you can't counterbuild him but you can definitely counterplay him, with almost every champion in the game.
His worst matchups are
but even against these he doesn't feel powerless and can force the lane to go at least even.
Thematically, he's perfect. I love his basic skin and voiceover. His abilities fit in his kit, they are very well designed and feel smooth to use. Arclight Vel'koz is one of the prettiest skins in the game, Battlecast feels really edgy and has great particles/VFX (i wish he had different body shape tho).
I would like thank RiotRepertoir and his team for this awesome champion, and Beluga Whale for really nice rework (which he got a lot flak for, however it was sucess in my eyes).
All hail the allmighty eyeball!
