Riot didn't take away bad player's ability to decide to make a bad decision. Players still have the option of not warding when they get free wards. Players still have the option of not upgrading their trinket eventhough the upgrade is free (and many players still exercise that right and end the game with an un-upgraded trinket).
The point is that the changes have not impacted strategic diversity in any way. There was only one right decision before and there is only one right decision now. The fact that players willfully choose the wrong decision has not changed either.
Just an fyi, diamond/challenger players played without vision all the time because of how frequent wards got dewarded. If you want to get good at the game, you were going to have to learn how to win without having overpowered wards lighting up the river 24/7 reguardless of whether or not riot changed the vision system.
The only thing that the changes did was remove the overpowered green ward which honestly gave far too much power for its cost and actively stifled strategic decision making because choosing to ward was always the right decision.
I don't think you understand the point I'm trying to make.
I'm not sitting here pretending that suddenly everyone wards equally - boy, wouldn't that be glorious? No, there are STILL a bunch of baddies that don't ward, the only difference is that my ability to compensate for them was significantly lowered. As the seasons pass by I feel more and more punished because of OTHER PEOPLE'S inability to FUCKING WARD.
I, a player who was aware of the important of vision and who did her best to provide it to my team while denying it to the enemy team every game, am forced to be flippin' blind as a bat and this is making me lose my mind.
