I imagine Garen charging in with his Q towards Zed and as he approaches at alarming speed, he abruptly stops, puts his finger on Zed's mask and says "Hush, darling"

You can't use W or R or swap with either while silenced. Unless I misunderstand you?

I was playing as garen. Zed ulted in and I hit him after the untargetable animation, and he had the silence debuff on him. Then he cloned out.

Zed imo is an AD mage (with unlimited resource) so to speak, and silence should ruin him.
