Is there REALLY this big of a skill climb in Silver 4?

Bellows··1 votes·882 views

I seem to stop everyone in Silver 5 and get promoted to Silver 4 again only to get stomped on and get demoted. I have done the stomping from all the way from B 5 but Silver 4 is this sudden hump that doesnt seem very smoothly set after Silver 5. I feel like everyone is a master to me when I get promoted to S4. Whats the deal?

You just need to get better lol. I started ranked on an alt account today and already am at Silver 2. Focus more on getting cs instead of trying to play for kills. 15 cs = one kill. Think about it. 11 minutes you should have 100 cs.

Yes, every division is a noticeable increase in skill. A person who isn't analytical at all may just say "oh yeah, it's all the same thing until you get to high plat" or something stupid, but the differences are pretty clear. Sure, a silver 5 guy may not get completely stomped by a silver 3 or anything, but if you are silver 4 with 600 games played and cannot seem to find a way out, then there is a clear reason why that has happened.

I don't mean this to be an asshole, but really, just take the time to analyze everything you do. I don't play a whole lot of ranked, but every time I do I end up doing retarded plays or decisions that make me lose games in silver when I really shouldn't, but once I start doing that, I find myself catching bad calls before I make them and end up climbing again. Having mechanical skill and knowing the basic fundamentals of the game like CSing, trading, and objective priority is important, but actually understanding what you're doing and why you're doing it will carry you much further.

I know the feels... I legit catch myself doing silly things all the time.. I mostly play riven and I tend to be over aggressive so I catch myself flashing onto enemies full of confidence only to get destroyed. Good advice my dude!

High bronze and low silver is the epitome of unbalanced matchmaking. Just keep grinding and ull get out after a bit longer then normal divisions if u derserve it.

What this means is that this is your current level, if you want to improve you will need to look over and fix mistakes you make on a regular basis. Regardless of what people on here say, if you are better than your current tier you will climb. Sure there may be some unwinnable games, however there are many more winnable games that can be decided by your actions alone.

Silver V tends to be the elo where a lot of unranked people get placed into. I feel like people in Silver V are worse than Bronze I a lot of the time. But yeah once you hit Silver IV, you're at the point where people are able to climb and at least have an idea of how their champion's mechanics work.

I hit the same wall for a bit and then got in Silver 3 before the season ended and I got placed back into Bronze to start the climb all over again lol.

You can find the answer by asking yourself "how did I get beat"
If you play top and the enemy top is more aggressive than you and you lose the game that can be something that you can improve on. This can go for any lane and how you get beat.

Next time your in Silver 5 keep a log of your games while your in Silver 5. divide your W's from your L's stats and see where you are getting beat at. DO the same when you get to Silver 4 and see the difference of your WINS in S4 and S5 from your LOSES in S4 and S5.

Stats that can help you and should be logged ( OPINION) Kills - Deaths - Assists ( pretty obvious ) Towers ( Need towers to win games) CS ( again obvious ) JNG CS ( Very interesting but laners who get more than 20 JNG cs per game tend to win more games, because their not over-extending for lane cs)

Thank you and Have a good one

The whole thing about jungle cs is a misleading statistic. The reason they tend to win more games is because they are already on the enemy's side of the map and have free roam of the jungle. I won't argue that good laners who know what cs to take don't win more games, but just that this statistic is a bit misleading

True true, but I mean only your side of the jungle. You can find your "counter Jng cs" from you own Jng cs stat also.
I get where you are coming from tho.

What I mean is take all the resources that are given to you and your team. Before the "last fight" where everyone is mid jerking it normally 3-4 camps could have been cleared but is left uncleared for no reason. That's all.

Most smurfs sit around Silver so the players can feel good about themselves. You're not playing against other Silvers.

Top x Mid1 votes

lmfao... How? Wouldn't you have to pretty much lose on purpose to legit sit in silver? Not even trying to say silver is bad. A smurf would just be more likely to win.

Sintama1 votes

Uhh...yeah. That's how you do it. I don't know why you didn't understand.

Yeah, that's pretty much why I didn't hit gold on Season 4 in Silver 1. Account boosters / extreme toxicity toward my gold border pretty much wanted to lose the game anyway.

I've had issues ever since, there was a lot of back-to-back bullying like 20 games. I haven't been the same player since people have started to abuse others according to stats that season.

I'm mainly an aggressive / tank / initiator / baiting sort of dude. So that bad KDA and higher win rate isn't me being carried its me being an aggro sink.

That's tragic... holy moly

I've been chilling out, taking my time in low elo just to relax and fix anxiety_ the entire season._

as a silver 4 irelia main, playing the game for just 2 seasons.

i dont think the skill change is that huge, remember your not playing vs only 1 division of silver players, your vs all of them. it seems like thier better, but really theres just more players as a whole in silver than in bronze. so your bound to meet more competent players than before.

i personally am trying to drop, to bronze on an alt account to play vs b5 players. sounds fun.
