I was just wondering if someone could explain what caused this

It wasn't lag because all the other players said he hugged the bottom side wall meaning he never walked the path that I saw him walk.

Seems like a bug tbh, that looks to have hit his hitbox well enough.

Agreed. I'd definitely report this to Riot under the "Report a Bug" boards. It clearly shows her web passing through his hitbox, and last I saw the area of her spell's hitbox is big enough to catch him at that angle.

It's great OP has visual evidence. Hopefully they fix this! :D

it is lag you see how warwick moves suddenly much quicker when he walks down towards midlane it means that your view showed him continuing moving the direction you last saw him moving before you lagged until your lag evened back out where it showed him moving to where he really was as fast as possible

It could just be blood scent kicking in, as it is most likely taliyah mid and she was around less than half hp.

Doesn't Blood Scent give a visual indicator above his head though (as well as blood splurting out)? I'm pretty sure it's visible to the enemies as well.

He did speed up from that. But he also completely teleported forward and walked through the wall above us right before the clip started

If you personally had a lag spike or packet loss you may be able to find it in your logs by uploading them into the log reader here; https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/209765743-Connection-Troubleshooting-Log-Reader

The simplest solution is usually the correct one.

I don't really know, I'm just speculating and i don't play Warwick so i wouldn't know if he gets an indicator above his head too. I'm just speculating.

We dont see it, but the map is actually 3D. X,Y, and Z axis.

In this case - and its a very rare case - the warwick was "below" the skillshot and just to the side enough that it passed over warwicks shoulder. If you watched the game in cinematic replay, youd see just how you actually missed. Jhins W has the same problem.

No, it doesn't. At best, it has a binary 'ground level' vs 'in flight level'.

Tristana can't jump over projectiles.

... Yes, it does. projectile height effects projectiles. Otherwise a ziggs bomb wouldnt go UP and come DOWN the way it does. Or go OVER a yasuo wall. It happens with thin skillshots at specific spots on the map.

Z Statistic1 votes

Yes, that's why it's called binary.

It goes over Yasuo's wall because it has been coded to do so, not because it has a z coordinate that it larger than the z height of yasuo's wall.

All you're describing is how hit boxes of projectiles don't hit target hit boxes at certain areas of the map.

Slythion2 votes

actually, the map is purely an x y axis

You example with the ziggs bomb (I'm assuming you mean his q) is faulty because the bomb is granted the ability to pass through player-terrain (and maybe real terrain, idk) while it's in the "air". It only has collision-qualities when it reaches a certain value "in the air" (although it's all visuals where the projectile's image changes to look like there is a z-axis).

It's why Tristana still gets hit by projectiles despite mid-jump

It's why Blitz can grab targets while they are knocked up

It's why Kennen can still apply a stack when passing through targets in the air during his E

now I don't have an explanation for the gif in the original post, but I can confirm that league is on an x, y plane
