It is one way to play him, but the typical Jayce build (Youmuu, Black Cleaver) already has more CDR, more damage, armor pen, and it still has the speed boost upon attacking, but with BC it procs on all physical damage. Black Cleaver is a key item, and since it shares a passive with TriForce you lose a LOT of gold value in your items, and since Youmuu is so good on him, you end up with more CDR than the cap allows, making the build further inefficient. The key thing is that he needs armor penetration to do what he does.

What about youmuus, trinity force, maw, and a last whisper item? that still has a lot of armor pen and with lucidity boots you get maxed out cdr

Often you build a LW item anyway, unless the enemies don't have a tank. Triforce also costs a full 633 gold more than a Black Cleaver, which means you have to wait a very long time to have your power spike from it. Due to the cost of Tri, it's usually a first item rush, because building it after a first item means you don't get that spike for a very long time. Jayce has an advantage in that his build is relatively low cost per item and it gives him SO much. Pen, CDR, damage, move speed, and the Youmuu active.

Well they had no tank on their team and i was fed early so I was goofing off and built tforce. Was going duskblade too xD hahaha 1 shotting people is fun :3

The strong thing about his "meta" build is the flat penetration, which is especially powerful against a team of no tanks.

you can do that. if the enemy team is mostly squishy triforce probably better than cleaver. and that is in general what you do even on darius and such. if they have no tanks. get triforce
