I, for one, partially welcome Veigar's E change [Cue mass downvoting]

I actually appreciate Veigar's E change to an extent, because I can't tell you how many times I've been instantly stunned and taken from 100-0 in about a second by a Veigar without even a second to react. Yes, mobility creep, blah blah blah, but just because you need it to burst down targets that are too quick for you doesn't make it balanced for someone who ISN'T MOBILE, like Nasus, Sona, or Annie. Immobile champions just get completely destroyed by Veigar in mid game, as he proceeds to stun you without any way to stop or dodge it, and then rips you a new asshole with his (probably) insane magic damage.

That being said, I did have to wonder "What the hell was Riot thinking" when they gave it warning particles. Delay it, sure, that makes sense. Most AoE stuns in the game need to be channeled and aren't instant, so no problem there. But warning particles? Really? It makes sense for Dark Matter since that does a metric fuckton if it hits you, but seriously? Yes, some AoE CC abilities like Braum's ult and Leona's ult are telegraphed (Braum shouting and leaping into the air, Leona shouting, raising her sword, and you see a small light in the center of the blast) but the radius of the abilities aren't completely revealed before they go off.

"Veigar is op" #BronzeQuotes.

Even players who think Veigar is op don't completely agree with the 5.4 changes. Riot you messed up.

Leona's radius is completely revealed by a red circle. A lot of abilities have been getting range indicators. I don't see why Veigar should be any different. Especially considering without a warning it's almost no different from what it was before. Completely undodgeable, potential teamwide stun.

First off consider that any ability with "travel time" (i.e., Ashe Ultimate) is similar to warning particles; a visual indicator to give you a potential chance to react (unless its Ashe at point blank range). They've changed a ton of abilities towards that. Soraka's starcall is now an aoe starfall that you can see and predict. And there are a ton of abilities that have warning particles before they go off. Pantheon Ult Brand's Pillar Cho'gath knockup

Need I go on? I mean, Jinx's ZAP! has a warning indicator, but she still manages to hit people with it. (inb4, Jinx has some mobility and CC, I know but as far as abilities & indicators go). So I don't think its the end of the world that your opponents get a chance to react. It still remains a big AoE Dont-move-or-you-are-stunned zone.
