Looking for Tips on maintaining early-game lead

So I've found that the majority of my games, I usually always wind up with a very good early game. I generally go 5-0, 6-0 which is really good for a laner. However I nearly always fall off mid game because of 3-man to even 5-man ganks in my lane (before first tower is even taken). How do i play around this? I ward river but it doesn't really do much because once my summoner spells are down, i have little escape, and jungler usually camps bush after my control ward is destroyed.

Should I be roaming with my early advantage and not worry about turret? Should I be just passively farming lane, avoiding any confrontation that might come from pushing enemy turret? What am I suppose to do to secure my win? Because I cant keep losing games when I have such a good early game.

If you play ADC, then I can't help you, but I'm going to take this from the stance of a top laner.

If you are snowballing your lead, job is to do several things depending on what champion you play or how the game is going.

  1. Take tower and pressure your lane constantly, becoming a massive split push meance. (Split push)
  2. Help other members of your team get fed as well via good roams and tp plays, eventually picking up key objectives like towers and dragons (Roam and skirmish)
  3. Continue to increase your lead until you become an ungodly force of evil destroying everything in your path in teamfights and skirmishes. (Get fed and become a massive teamfight threat)
  4. Distract the enemy jungler as much as possible and let your other lanes have some farm. (Like split pushing, but you can also take jungler camps and roam to other lanes)

What you do depends on what kind of champion you are. If you are a great split pusher like Tryndamere, you might want to focus on #1. and #4, while maybe going for #2 if the opportunity presents itself. If you have strong roams like Rengar or Pantheon, then you want to focus on #2 as much as possible, as champions like this tend to fall off hard. If your an annoying champion like Singed, than #4. will be your main priority, while also doing #2 if you can. If you are a late game monster like Gangplank, then you can do #1 while transitioning to #3. so you can tear shit up.

Also note that any champion can become a monster if they get fed enough, although how much you need to get fed depends on the champion. My best game last season was as a Nasus. I got hyper-fed early game to the point where I was unstoppable, but everyone else on my team was feeding bad. They were getting their ass beat in a teamfight when I came in and 1v5'd the enemies and almost got a penta, the last one got away but the point still stands. I ended up carrying that game hard even though Nasus is traditionally terrible at teamfights.

If you want to roam without losing tower, then remember to push in your lane every time you roam, and don't overstay your welcome. When you roam, you are essentially ganking a lane. After you finish your gank, get to your lane as quick as possible so you don't lose out on too much gold and tower damage.

If you really want to learn to hard carry, I'd recommend picking up Tryndamere and split pushing incredibly hard. It is one of the best carry games in lower ranks, people just straight up don't know how to deal with a good split push.
