"the autofil system is bad - rant" rant

For the past forever players everywhere have been ranting about the autofill system caling it bad, unfair and gameruining and i'm here like really...REALLY!

The problem isn't the autofill system, it's the players themselves. How (and more importantly why) would abyone start playing ranked when they don't even have enough knowledge about every role to be able to play it. You don't have to be a pro in every role but decent aka not feed and actually impact. I played the game for years and didn't even consider playing ranked because of my lack of knowledge which to this daty i still lack (mostly because i never took ranked into consideration till recently but that's not the point here).

Don't have the champions? Well get grinding, practice in normals and get yourself some knowledge while you're at it. Have at least 2 champions that you can play well for every role (in case one of them gets banned), Then and ONLY then start playing ranked.

People who are getting autofilled should blame themselves for not knowing how to play the role not the other way around.

Hope you're happy though, looks like Riot is removing draft pick all together. Let's see how many dodges you'll manage to escape with when you get placed in support every 4 games then.

Bingo. And why are the players like this?

Because puts things in place like Role Selection that act as a crutch for them which means players never even have a chance to learn the things they need to know before they get into ranked.

The community will always be toxic about good ideas from Riot, even if it's preventing them to get too long queues.

I've seen one that has been salty saying that "Autofill is something that Riot should abort because that is a lost granted", and I'm like "If you don't know how to play any other roles than mid and jungle, go back in norms and learn", even tho their only reason is because it's "boring and unfair".

It's not boring and unfair, it can save a ranked game if you want to rank up. Like you said, people should blame themselves for not knowing how to use a role that the autofill forced them to play, instead of blamming Riot.

For every players that I've seen, they didn't complain about the Autofill system, even with random people in solo queue.

TL;DR: Go in norms and play roles that you should learn even if you think this is boring.

You make it sound as if supports have no impact what so ever. Being a good support changes everything. 1 good Blitz grab or a Sona ult would turn the game pside down. Yes you won't be the "carry" but supports do have alot of impact.

I like to play soraka only. Sona/janna as a backup. But I'm not getting kills like brand zyra etc so I cannot do shit if xxx feeds unlike if I was playing mid

I mean part of the experience in lol is to try out different playstyles. You could go Lux or Annie supp and you'll have great killing potential in late game if that's what you're after.

Lux support? Lol have you seen all the posts complaining how bad lux support is?

Depends who is behind these posts. She has great cc and with some items would be amazing lategame. Keep in mind that in the end you are the support so damage wont be your main powerspike but the cc u bring into teamfights.

The problem isn't Autofill, the problem is that nobody wants to play Support.

Support players rely on their teams, can't get kills, gold, or items, and have a much lower game impact than anyone else.

If you have to support and you don't want to, it's like everybody else in the game gets to have fun except for you.

Depends on how a player defines "fun" i guess you're right, although Riot is trying to make the support role more interactive than it already is. although i never understood the idea of "supports have less/no impact". A good sona ult or a blitz grab changes everything in game imo.

Well, supports can have an impact but it's much lower than other roles. No matter how good a Blitz player is, he is completely useless if the only thing he can do is pull a fed Darius into your team.

if he gets the enemy's adc then he basically is the reason they won the teamfight...etc. I do agree that supports have a bit less of an impact but that doesn't make them any less important/useless imo.

Iv been playing from season 1 and i know how to play all lanes.

problem is this is ranked, my current rank is plat 5, however i dont play like a plat 5 adc, more like a G5 one. (not my fault, this is what riot did by giving us the option of playing only 2 roles whole season). this puts my whole team at a disadvantage.

PS i dont mint the support, its essential to be able to play support in this game, my problem is the ADC, its a complicated role with changing meta in which as a jungler main i have no time to keep up with.

not completely true, yes the majority of times we get autofilled into support but it has happend multiple times that i get placed mid because of autofill.

i autofilled ADC twice in a row, when i just reached D5 and decided to have some relaxed games not on my primary role.

My phelosophy is that a players rank in ranked reflects the overall knowledge not just the role he's good at (that's what champion rankings and profile stats are for). Autofill or not if a player is good at one role while the enemy is better then the better player deservs the win and a higher rank for his overall knowledge. You might be better at him in the role you prefere but right there and then he had the best preformance. As a ranked player (i assume even more so in higher ranks) a player is supposd to be challenged in every aspect of the game to see if he deservs the rank he has. Simply put if a person want to climb he has to have what it takes in everything not just what he's best at.
