Just had to play Kat vs Riven and couldn't do ANYTHING in lane, not a scratch in her armor. Frustrating as all hell.

you JUST found this? riven has alwasy been strong vs katarina. You just don't see riven mid to often honestly. Rivens still outplayable in this lane. Sometimes i max W if i plan 2 fight her

Wukong does surprisingly well against most mages. You use his e q combo to heavily chunk them then pop decoy to avoid most of the harass. Stat crystalline flask and rush hexdrinker.

You need a lot of flat mr runes though. Some ArPen and AD is good, but you basically need to start flask and have more than 50 mr to dish out damage like a baos.

Pantheon does well versus low and mid ranged mages. Well, ok. He has a really hard time dealing with long range mages like Ziggs or Lux (no surprise.)

Pantheon is an adc caster assassin with massive early game power, great roaming and no escape. I think he fits better mid than top. Get flask, throw out your spear everytime they come in range, use passive to block aa harass, abuse early power, QW aa E Q ignite and most squishies are dead. Use ult to roam

kat doesnt give a shit about her laner. if kat can kill laner than its a bonus. its her roaming and teamfights that snowballs her.

Not me, luckily. The only problem is that Galio has mana issues while Kat is resourceless. Other than that, he can W her combo, simply tank her Q poke as he has a shit-ton of MR, and if she ults just taunt her with yours and fucking rape her with your Q damage. It's that simple.

are all champions that can easily poop on Riven. Especially Malzahar, holy shit, by the time Malz is done with her, she'll look like she just got done filming two girls one cup.

Cho is the best counter to Kat IMO.

Kat can't outfarm him, she can't kill him, she can't teamfight against him, she can't roam from him, and she is ultimately outscaled by him.

Riven is fine too, though.

Cho pushes like a badass, making roaming against him very hard (and unlike most mid-laners he can withstand a gank despite his immobility). Furthermore, the fact that he has sustain means that she will be pushed out of lane before he is (ward bottom river before heading back if you can, or just don't back). If she does roam, if the Cho player is good he's going to follow her and fucking kill her.

Katarina's entire purpose is shut down by Cho's W. If she can't ult, she can't get kills. If she can't get kills, she can't get resets. If she can't get her resets, she's more useless than a lone ADC.

If Kat roams top, follow her, ping that you're coming, and then 2v2 the enemy. Cho brings a lot more than Kat does to a 2v2, and in most instances your team should win the fight.

If she roams bot, same deal. If you can catch her out in the jungle, just go ahead and kill her (though save your W for when she uses her ult).

In these scenarios, the enemy jungler is more dangerous than Kat herself, but they can be dealt with by proper warding (which, admittedly, you can't do solo).

I mean, don't get me wrong, if the Kat plays well she can still get fed, but it's harder to do that against Cho. I've personally never lost lane against Kat as Cho.

I've found that Diana is a perfect counter to Kat.

The ability to stick to her if she tries to run, a small knock back to stop her ultimate, tanky enough to withstand any early burst damage, and mana efficient enough to keep up with her resource-less-ness for a period of time.

It happens. I was top lane as Sion, and our mid-lane was a Katarina versus a Cho. This Cho, no joke, rushed a Seeker's Armguard against her. He didn't do very well, and Kat got super fed while I bullied the shit out of the enemy Shen and was unkillable. Fun game.

i actually beat riven mid with kata. you max w not q. be an as. top lane is hard but you can survive. just rush armguard and you will do fine mid. the biggest counter to kata the i always use is kassadin, even scarra him self said that the only match up where he as katarina have no chance to win. other good champs is diana, cho

In lane, Fiddlesticks absolutely ass-plunders Katarina.

I know it sounds crazy, but try it; When she goes in, fear and then drain. You will always out-trade her and you can easily shut down Death Lotus with silence or fear.

The only thing to look out for is her roaming, which is faster than Fiddle's but significantly less deadly..... Crowstorm is a female dog if done right.
