So after silver...

Hi so for most of this season I pretty much stuck to normal games in fact before the last 3 months if I played a ranked it was because my mouse missed normal draft. Anyway I decided that I wanted to get gold just to rub it in a certain friend's face. So I started playing in silver 4 and just wrecked through almost all my games, and while I was in silver I kept getting these gold players who would say "no let me take x role, I'm gold your only silver I will carry" and they never did. I'm not saying they fed I'm just saying that they really weren't that much better then the rest of silver.
Well I made it to gold about a month and a half ago after that I kept playing ranked now in gold and around gold 3 I started playing with plats. Just like in silver all the plats would say "no I should jungle I'm plat your only gold let me carry" and just like before they rarely fed but it was even rarer for them to carry.
Sooo long story short I just got to plat and I am wondering if I will start encountering diamond's who will say stuff like that? And beyond just saying it will they actually be significantly better then us plats? I know that the average skill level of people improves with rank but I mean it is REALLY REALLY gradual so I am just wondering after u get out of bronze is there ever another big skill gap that is hard to overcome? I am not trying to sound arrogant or cocky I am honestly curious will I encounter a big skill gap that is difficult to overcome? also I'm sorry if I posted this to the wrong board new to this.
