Stop giving defensive stats and utility based off of offensive stats.

Shields that scale with AP, which raises your damage. Heals that scale with AP, which raises your damage. Slows that scale with AP, which raises your damage. Shields that scale with AD, which raises your damage.

Etc.

It's a foolish idea and mechanic for obvious reasons. You should not be getting defensive benefit from building glass cannon.

We have the mechanics for +% healing, +% shielding, etc. Use them. Stop lumping in all damage stats giving defensive benefits, this includes kits as well as items.

Shields scaling with AP/AD are fine, it specifically discourages off-tank/bruiser builds and lets them function as glass cannons in the first place. Could you imagine what tank Ekko would've been like if his shield scaled with his health?

By the same logic no champion should have damage that increases with their defensive purchases.

We have the technology and the precedence to have shields and whatnot scale with MR or Armor. For the champions who have shields, just give them a 1:1 base armor scaling for their shields, or whatever.

I mean, i have no problem with them doing this, what i don't understand is what defensive scaling stats rarely scale defensively.

Offensive stats tend to have some kind of multiplicative scaling, but defensive stats only get it on the actual stats and maybe 1 ability on the champion. Though, they have no problem giving a champion like malph, 2 abilities which have damage scaling with armor.

They made some tanks who scaled off health, then nerfed health everywhere.

I 100% disagree with this. Why? Because encouraging a Soraka to build defensive stats to scale her heals up to god-like levels is already bonkers. We shouldn't be encouraging people to have their shields scale off a different stat. People who have to build AP/AD to have effective shields HAVE to build squishier. This means they can be bursted down a lot easier. Making their shields and whatnot scale off heal+shield power would just encourage redemption builds across the board as well as 40% CDR on everyone(since those items all grant CDR), never running out of mana(those items also all have mana regen out the wazoo), and all of them grant one or another kind of defensive stat, be it MR, armor, or HP. We don't need people building tanky while having shields for half their health. Also just so you know heal+shield power stats scale BETTER with heals and shields than the actual AD/AP ratios, which makes it even worse, and if you want them to have items that give heal+shield power AD or AP, there's literally no point in doing what you're asking for. Heal and shield power items are probably one of the WORST things to come to League of Legends.

Also this would basically be saying Vladimir shouldn't exist, considering he gets health based on his AP and AP based on his health.
