Some suggestions to the devs from a new player...!

Hey, you all asked for suggestions and as a new player of about 1.5 weeks, there are a couple of things I'd love to see happen that honestly bother me, although not enough to stop me from enjoying myself!

  1. Skin previews I've come across many amazing-looking champions in my time with the League, and I love the art and detail that goes in to each one of them, but I've always wished for a simple "view model" button. Currently players have to go online to somewhere like Youtube to find out what a skin actually looks like in-game, and while it's not like we can't continue to do so, I'm sure it would be much more intuitive to have it built in to the game.

  2. Custom sorting for champion page Of course as I stand now I don't have many champions in the first place, but I do wish that while in the champion screen view pre-game and/or in picking phase there was a way to "set aside" your regularly played champions, or ones you've yet to or would like to try, and maybe a section for the ones you don't exactly "get along" with, just to make basic selection easier on everyone.

  3. Recommended lane icons As a new player I'd had issues first thing with knowing which champion to take to the lane I was supposed to be in, and the timer doesn't quite give enough time to list them all off unless you're running some form of voice chat with someone else who happens to be knowledgeable. A small icon of the regularly-played lanes of each character in the champion select would be extremely helpful for new players...!

  4. Opt-in voice chat Yes, I understand toxicity and how much it can ruin a game. I also know how it feels to have your leash steal your buff and then get trashed on the rest of the game because it set you behind. That said, it's simple enough for us to mute pings; why not players? I had been trying to decide which MOBA to try out, and downloaded LoL first as I knew it'd been around fairly long, but had I not found a chill group to hang with and talk to over voice, guys who could explain simple things to me, I'd have moved on to DOTA after a day or two. Abandoned on an island isn't a bad way to describe it, and I only managed because I'm more outgoing than many gamers.

  5. Replay button for skill previews You guys have it for summoner spells, why not on champion skills as well?

Thanks for reading, and I really love this world you've created for us to experience! (Particularly Kindred. They are a work of art...!) Kindred

1 theyre looking into it but u can easily find them online with a youtube search. Look up skin preview "skin name" and the videos show all abilities too.

2 this is often asked but at least now you can sort by class.

3 no riots made a point there not going to enforce a meta and this is exactly enforcing a meta. Might i suggest a website like league of graphs or mobafire. They have the recommended lane/s for each champ.

4 again theyre looking into this they mentioned it in yesterdays ask riot.

5 what do you mean a replay button for abilities. Do you mean on the champ pase which is garbage compared to the old client. I know you can always reclick the ability to replay it.

While I'm not a developer or a member of Riot, I do have a remedy for at least one of the woes you brought up!

  1. Skin previews

While it's not a View Model button in the client, and it requires a little bit of extra work on the player's end, there's actually a YouTube channel, SkinSpotlights, that's dedicated to showcasing Skins, Champions, and aesthetic content in League of Legends.

Not only does it show all the Skins currently in League of Legends (as well as previous iterations of said skins, like before visual updates, VGUs, or texture updates), it'll also show content on the PBE, like the upcoming rework for Urgot, and the Omega Squad skins, too.

Hope this helps!
