Talking to teammates is almost ALWAYS foolish

Just a bit of a rant after a long spree of ranked games for y'all. (apologies in advance if this is in the wrong board, first time posting here...)

This community is, as a majority, full of 2 types of people. Those that are hyper-defensive and the trolls. People that are more than willing to answer legitimate criticism or suggestions with a variation of insulting you or calling you toxic (regardless of the context of said suggestion)..

Example, anything from "$#*@ YOU YOU SUCK AT THIS GAME PLAYERX!!!" to "Hey PlayerX, you should try to do this instead" is typically replied to as if they are the same. People are not attacking you or calling you bad when they make a suggestion. People want to win, and making a suggestion that could improve your compatibility or synergy with the team doesn't only benefit them, it benefits you as well. This is presuming they make said suggestion in a calm non-insult oriented manner.

When I play ranked I do my best to simply not speak to anyone. Ever. Because regardless of if you are trying to help, hurt, incite, or just troll... people react the same. I've received harassment notifications for simply asking people why they built itemX instead of itemY. At the same time I have ran into the occasional rarity that actually will reply to comments in a sensible manner but it is just that... a rarity. This major issue is that a very large percentage of the community seems to be convinced that they don't need to improve and thus when criticized they don't believe they are doing anything wrong. Even master/challenger/professional players make mistakes...

All in all, speaking to teammates at the moment seems to be a complete waste of time, it almost never leads to anything productive and some of the time can even lead to reducing your performance (either because you are typing a book or because said player you are trying to speak with begins a trolling spree). I've never played a game where you are more likely to be trolled by your own team than you are to be trolled by the enemy team. I'm just happy the mute button works, it has... sadly... become the most clicked button on my interface.

ASIDE: I can't wait to see this new automated punishment system put into place, the trolls will love it. (As they loved the automated system that was in place when the tribunal was down) Not to say that it won't help at all, it just won't help in exactly the way it is intended to.
