People hate autofill because a lot of people don't like sup and they want the roles they like to play. It like you get autofill at top and you don't play top a lot and so you would feed or not do as good as you would if you got your main role.

The difference here is that an inexperienced support, if they make the ADC aware, can often be counterbalanced by the ADC. Since bot is a duo lane, the support being inexperienced isn't as severe as say a solo laner or jungler who has a lot of weight and the entire lane on them. So long as an inexperienced support doesn't feed (it's not hard to do or play) and gets their wards up, they should be ok. A top laner who sucks at top will get dominated and lose the lane. A support who sucks at support will not immediately spell disaster for their lane.
