Illaoi E does magic damage...

Am I just stupid or does Illaois E do magic damage? Its often when she has black clever. I read on the E that it does percentage PHYSICAL damage yet every game i see the damage tick and it's magic. Then I get bursted down if she maxes E? Can someone explain this odd phenomena?

edit: She also does her physical damage on E but occassionally I see magic dmg pop up and I check the scoreboard and see that she did do magic damage...

Edit 2: This usually happens when she maxes e and after she finishes black clever. Idk if it’s a bug or not but I’ve noticed it too frequently to ignore it

no it was damage specifically from illaoi and it happened after she finishes black clever. I always see the purple magic damage under my character.

It might be a magic damage teammate damaging your spirit.

No it’s specifically her because the scoreboard shows magic damage as one of her damage sources and she didn’t have grasp or sunfire. It usually always happens after she finishes black clever

If she does magic damage it is the first I've heard of it.

Did you attack her at all? And did she have wit's end, sunfire or thornmail.i think how it works is that the damage that is transmitted scales off ad, but it still does the same damage type that attacks the spirit. Just my guess but I'm not 💯 sure.

Edit: also if she has grasp of the undying, I think the proc does magic damage.

I checked the scoreboard after the game. The illaoi I was up against didn’t have grasp and her e still did magic dmg. I didn’t want to believe it either but I’ve seen it so often. It’s in effect usually after she gets a black clever and maxes e

I remember I didn’t attack her. And she never built sunfire. She didn’t have wits end but she did have a black clever. I’ve noticed that it only takes in effect after she finishes black clever

It does whatever damage type the spirit is being hit by.

this never happened, so i'm not sure what to believe. Tape it or it never happened i guess. There's scorch, grasp, or simply a mage that attacked the spirit and redirected the magic damage to you

I can show you a screenshot of me playing illaoi and having no magic type items but still doing magic damage to champions on the score

score doesn't mean anything. You see it do damage in game, or not. For example darius does -2174829382983 damage if he takes Conqueror. That's what it says in stats tho, i'm pretty sure his damage doesn't get reduced ingame
