Should Blasting Wand and Pick Axe exist?

Should it? Let's hear your opinions. I'll start with mine.

I think they are not needed. When we look at other stats, they have different tiers of the single item stat(Talking about things like Giant's Belt, Cloth Armor, Long Sword, etc.) then you look at the others like AD and AP itemization and it has 3tiers. Why?

HP: item 1028 item 1011 Armor: item 1031 item 1029 Magic Resist: item 1033 item 1057 AD: item 1036 item 1037 item 1038 AP: item 1052 item 1026 item 1058

Why do they have 3? I think they should remove Blasting Wand and Pick axe. Now make Long sword x2 build into BF Sword, and Amp Tomb x2 build into Needlessly Large rod. (OR make Blasting Rod into Amp tomb to be more character)

No, offensive stats and defensive stats are inherently different and should not be treated the same.

No. Defensive itemization is easier on purpose because it is reactionary. Offensive items are an investment to snowball. B.F. sword and Large rod are hard to pick up on purpose so that if you get ahead you are forced into more decision making. That's why they have the mid-point blasting wand and pick axe. You can decide between cheaper items to press your advantage faster or holding out for the big ticket item. Removing this decision making to make long sword upgrade into B.F. sword would just make the itemization process 1000x more stale.

Combining cost would have to be too high.

Then you're taking up too much space per item. For example, item 3035 builds off item 1037 item 1036 , drop that to 3x item 1036 and now you're looking at inefficiency in buying more than one part to it, no variation to lower tier items, and a higher combined cost.

You have to try DotA where a "basic" item can cost 2,000+ gold.

This is actually a reminiscent of a strategy around building items: expending your gold as fast as you get it to get cheaper items and get more immediate power, or waiting for expensive items to get more power later in the game, but at the cost of not investing any gold while you are saving for them.

Right now the only use I can think about is to prevent carries from getting too much damage as soon as they get some gold, so, if LeBlanc made a double, you still have a window where you can stop her before she gets 1,600 to take a Needlessly Large Rod and roflstomp your team. Meanwhile, defensive items are a reaction (you won't see a Caitlyn destroying you because she get too much damage from Negratron's cloak), so they are cheaper to allow you to counter-build that LeBlanc decently even with less gold (since she killed you), before she take NLR and destroys you.
