Can you ppl PLZ stop being bad and crying about lux? she isnt op ppl just forgot how to play vs her

Was 40 lp from challenger in s4 and I have regularly been the #1 sona/top 5 lux on lolskill for ages with a 12:1 kda as lux I ADMIT my peak elo this season has been donkey shit and has only been about about d2 mmr this season but this is still coming from a person with over 1k games played of lux in high elo so if you disagree your automatically wrong

This champ was literally considered a troll pick for the past season and a half and suddenly became "op" overnight when presumably some lcs tard/streamer said she was sleeper op after her minor buffs

HOWEVER what actually changed? believe it or not... actually nothing just peoples playstyles against her because she became fotm

before I would be disrespected constantly in high elo and people would go out of their way to hard engage/camp me for picking a low tier mid laner and the majority of my games would be rough people were smart enough to go place wards and do homeguard tp ganks/do a deep gank and force me to burn flash for flash and then camp me for 5 minutes etc

HOWEVER after playing some lux games recently to test out my theory people have turned into timid pussies when playing vs a lux and this is why she became op every person I played seemed to play as if I were a tanky mobilty assassin mage brusier apcarry

ok so lets actually break this down

what ACTUALLY happened to lux? what were these magical "buffs" that made her so stong suddenly?

#1 her q actually roots the person behind whoever she hits for full duration... irrelevant 90% of time her q only hit 1 person anyway its very very rarely that you will throw a q into a group of people sieging and you actually snare 2 people and get a 2 man combo off because of it

#2 a less clunky e thats slightly easier to use (no actual damage buff but xeraths poke is equally annoying to lane against) The only reason this feels "op" is because people simply dont understand how lux e works

if a lux moves forward to e she will be aiming -behind- you this means you do not fucking move backward you will be walking into her skillshots you side step or you move forward to engage on lux

she has EXTREMELY large cooldowns and most kids incorrectly only run 25% cdr on her with athenes moving backward vs a lux is the same thing as trying to just walk backwards vs a thresh/blitz its a terrible fucking idea

ok so lets take a look at who actually poses the greatest threats to this supposedly "op" champion? (NOT IN LANE BUT IN A TEAM FIGHT) who is capable of flashing on her and forcing her to flash away/ccing her/sticking to her long enough to result in her dying?

Ahri Akali Aatrox Alistar Amumu Annie Azir Blitzcrank Braum Bard Darius Corki Diana Ekko Elise Evelynn Ezreal Fiddlesticks Fiora Fizz Galio Gangplank Garen Gnar Gragas Hecarim Irelia JarvanIV Jax Kalista Kassadin Katarina Khazix Leblanc LeeSin Leona Lissandra Malphite Malzahar MasterYi Nautilus Nocturne Olaf Pantheon Poppy Quinn Rammus RekSai Renekton Rengar Riven Ryze Shaco Shyvana Singed Sivir Skarner Sion Swain TahmKench Talon Thresh Tristana Trundle Tryndamere Twitch Udyr Urgot Vayne Veigar Vi Volibear Warwick MonkeyKing XinZhao Yasuo Zed

no thats not me clicking random champion icons those champions are all extremely deadly for lux in any elo if they play properly/build properly and have any sort of teamwork with their team all of those champions are capable of killing any lux if you know what sort of openings to look for

ok so what does all of this mean? how do you play vs/beat lux?

#1 stack mr/tenacity

#2 bully her early

#3 out push her so she goes oom if she has to farm with her e her wave clear is TERRIBLE until she gets 2 items

#4 NEVER BACK OFF IF SHE MISSES Q THAT MEANS SHE CANT FIGHT FOR 10 seconds SO ENGAGE ON HER DEPENDING WHO YOU PLAY

#5 DO NOT LET HER FREE FARM!!!!!! TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FACT SHE RUNS TP AND CANT DUEL AS WELL 1v1

#6 HAVE YOUR JUNGLER CAMP HER/DO A DEEP GANK EARLY (lvl 2/3 even if gank fails just loop around and try again) why do you think people turret hug vs eve or try to gank a nasus early? because certain champions require changing your playstyle slightly to win

literally if your a jungler flashs on top of her to force her to go flash for flash you can camp her for 5 minutes and she will automatically lose lane how hard was this? without flash lux is the most easy damn champion on league of legends to kill so your priority should be forcing her flash first before trying to actually kill her

lux is capable of being a late game hypercarry if she gets far enough ahead with mejais all it takes is a bit of jungler camping/forcing a flash then you camp her the next 5 minutes she will be taken out of the game for 10-15 minutes because a lux thats behind is absolutely worthless in a team fight and she is free kills for anybody

if lux throws a q at you and misses all you have to do is flash over it/flash engage when she doesnt have flash and she dies period and of story

"wah wah her shield is op and self peel" yes some of you kids have been calling her fucking silly shield "self peel" self peel is a fucking lee sin kick or a a janna ult/trist ult her shield is completely irrelevant it just delays her death by 1-2 seconds JUST KEEP ATTACKING IF SHE CANT DISENGAGE SHE DIES SHE IS SQUISHY

if she cant snare with her q her only source of damage becomes her e if she throws it on top of herself in desperation she is NOT capable of hitting you with ult unless you are genuinely awful at this game

a mage with only 1 consistent source of damage is not "op" infact her e doesnt even hit that hard compared to some other mid laners

TL;DR lux being "op" is literally all in your damn head its a figment of your overactive whiny low elo imagination

the only thing that "changed" about lux is the fact people forgot how to play vs her and are being WAY too respectful of her instead of disrespecting her and going over aggro to force flashs/diving her thats how you beat lux

you never stop fucking right clicking towards her if she misses q move forward if she uses e FLASH again on top of her

wtf can she do? nothing she has terrible terrible cooldowns

you dont let her fucking free farm and have your jungler stack up his fucking devourer you take advantage of her terrible early game and oom issues and set her back as far as possible before she is allowd to buy 3-4 items/stack mejais and actually do good damage

all you have to do is pick a hard engage comp and just have 1-2 people flash for lux every team fight and she will be taken out of the fight by zoning or having to recall

use tp homeguard ward engages on her do all kinds of shit its not fucking rocket science

inb4 a bunch of platinum or lower players try to shit talk me for not being high elo anymore becasue I quit or thinking their 1 week of lux experience outweighs someone that mained her for 3 seasons in front page elo

Her buffs were decently substantial. I wouldn't downplay the importance of a full-duration Q snare on two enemies, or E being easier to detonate. Early in lane, E is a strong source of damage, especially if she can follow it up with an auto-attack, and with the buffed Q, she can now more reliably escape from 2 enemies chasing her.

Still, you're right. She's strong, but not overpowered. Dodge her Q and she's done. She's also insanely squishy and immobile. I welcome the return of at least SOME immobile mids to the meta.

Would you welcome the return of Galio?

Sure, why not?

I wouldn't call her cooldowns high. While they do cost a lot of mana and have large cooldowns early, late game they're super low. Just look at her ult.

yes and like I say

she is capable of being a hypercarry late game thats why you try to set her as far back as possible so that doesnt happen

you have to pick someone that can go aggro vs lux and outpush her to beat lux in lane

abysmal/merc treads/hex drinker are basically a free win vs any lux she wont even be able to damage you

"but this is still coming from a person with over 1k games played of lux in high elo so if you disagree your automatically wrong" dude, I can agree with you on a lot of points, and I don't think Lux is op, but no one is ever automatically wrong, and adopting that mindset is stupid...

yeah it sounds arrogant but im just tired of assholes lining up to nerf my other main thats a balanced chamion

riot already nerfed my main over 30 times when she had 0% pick rate in competitive play/0% ban rate and like 45% win ratio in d1-challenger just because a silver rioter doesnt know how to trade

I never really got the "lux op" hype. I guess it's because 80% of my mid pool counters her.

This will be fun to read lol.

Nothing changed? Her E got a pretty nice QOL buff and her Q got buffed hard too. Apart from that champs dont always need to change to become strong. The meta shifting away from assassins is enough for Lux, isnt it? And those buffs did matter now that tanks and bruisers are standing way more stacked up unlike other metas where Lux just gets jumped on.

she has EXTREMELY large cooldowns

kek

I wont say anything about the champs you listed, tho many of them dont do that well against Lux late game.

She also has a double snare, an aoe slow and a shield so I wouldnt really say shes "the easiest champ in the game to gank"... Its kinda strange how basically the only points you bring up is "camp her" and "shes squishy", like that wouldnt apply to any carry, especially if theyre immobile as well.

Im not saying Lux is op because I dont think I even played against her at all recently but she seems really fucking strong when I happen to play her myself lol.

SleepyLionCub1 votes

Lux really isnt op though. People are just not used to her being strong.

She is probably above the 50% in terms of raw strength though, but the same could be said about many champions (63 of them in fact). I feel lux is finally at peace, and I hope that she does not get any more changes put on her.

I was with you until point #2. That looks like a list of champs who have killed a Lux at some point, not a list of champs who have an inherent advantage on Lux. Statistically Lux is only hard countered by exactly one champ, and he's not even in that list.

The second problem is that you're saying things that contradict themselves. First you say to force a flash so she's an easy engage/gank. But you also say you have to shove the wave to deny her CS and waste her mana. The problem should be obvious; if she's under turret, she will never be an easy engage or gank, but the opposite applies to you in reverse.

The third problem is that most Luxes will take summoner 21 not summoner 12 . Her kit naturally freezes the wave unless she's wasting mana, and her farm range will almost always leave her relatively close to the turret. An engage or gank doesn't always mean you'll get a flash unless she panics. You'll always get a W, maybe a Barrier, and only a Flash if she's way out of position or over-pushed somehow.

I think you're failing to appreciate how effective her tweaks were in letting her be more consistent. Her W is now a more reliable shield. Her E is now far, far more likely to hit. And her Q is far better for trick shots through a minion and is less likely to be screwed by wave-shifting. It added up to her being a little safer, a lot better at poking, a little easier to land a full combo, and a little less mana-starved throughout the game.

I don't think that her kit is OP right now, but I do think she's just a liiiiiitle too safe. Once item 3041 becomes a core item on a carry, it's probably time to evaluate their risk/reward ratio. If anything, she probably needs a little nerf to her W or a revert to the QoL change that made it immediate.

I was giving examples on how to beat her obviously you dont do all of them

some champs can easily afk push wave and force lux to burn mana/recall at the very least she wont be able to roam without losing mid

and she is a very easy gank to a good lee/elise/vi/j4 especially if they are 6 the important thing is to gank her level 2-3 when she isnt expecting it

as far as cooldowns

yeah her cds are high unless she reachs 40 cdr and maxes skill rank

COOLDOWN: 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 / 10 her entire kit is baed around her q which has the longest cd she wont be killing anyone without landing a q first

its also her only real self peel

Vekkna1 votes

Ok, that does make more sense. I definitely agree that you have to get ahead early against her because if you go even, you'll eventually get caught in a combo or sniped from the fog.

The problem is that that's easier said that done because of her range, W, and running barrier. An early kill will often mean a tower dive, especially since hp pots can quickly out-heal lots of poke from the first few levels. That's also a problem considering that quite a few meta junglers aren't great at super-early ganks. Vi, Xin, Lee, Yi, Elise, and Evelynn are probably the only junglers who could successfully gank Lux at level 2-3, and that's in combination with a strong early-game mid like Yasuo or Ahri who can put out the damage.

With all of that said, it's basically no different than any other champ that snowballs easily, except that Lux is objectively harder to get kills on than most mid champs. Lux doesn't need kills in lane if she can land a few Rs here and there, but that applies to champs like Yasuo, too.

Slamurai Jack1 votes

A champions win rate doesn't just go up 5% over the course of the season for no reason. Come on now. I don't particularly care about her or think she's OP but pretending all those changes didnt make her significantly stronger is just dishonest.

Only Play Darius1 votes

She is very strong against the current "OP" (according to the boards) juggernauts like Garen Darius Mordekaiser because she has strong CC and long range damage

But on the same token Yasuo is popular right now and if he has any idea what he is doing in lane Lux will be eating her own shit before level 5.
