How was nerfing 3/4 of his kit compensation for losing DFG?

You take away a 120AP CDR item that makes his burst stronger, then "compensate" him by pulling 20% of the damage off of his ult. He has no mobility. His Q trades are now subject to your totally accurate hitboxes and there is no way to play this incredibly squishy, immobile mage which doesn't push his lane.

To top it all off, his cage is now completely garbage for chasing or peeling. There is no reason to level this thing at all. Unless you're playing against beginner bots, nobody is going to get stunned.

Veigar is dead.

RIP tiny master of uselessness.

The only issue I have is how terrible his trades are now

Almost every popular midlaner has a skillshot that passes through all units (Ahri, Xerath, Zed etc)

meanwhile anyone with a brain stands behind a wave and suddenly it's impossible to do anything as Veigar

Good luck stacking up when you're 0/7 by the 20 minute mark because you have no defense against jungle ganks.

Why don't you just sit under tower? if they dive then stun them.
