Kids complain bout verbal abuse but don't mute

KING ATTILA··3 votes·545 views

look, we all know people act like damn fools. Instead of writing a thread about not being able to stand verbal abuse, how about you click tab in game, and you click that little mute button!!

Problem solved. Responding back to fucking idiots that are trash talking or even reading their bullshit can throw off your game. Why let them have power over you when you can easily shut them up for free???

MUTE BUTTON

Doesn't excuse the problem though.

And even if you mute them, the other team members probably haven't either and the person that is verbally abusing the team just continues to ruin the team experience

KING ATTILA1 votes

You ask your team to mute them.

Karlyr1 votes

The problem in your whole statement is that you can't force someone to mute another. Being a jerk is not excusable. Someone shouldn't have to do something because someone else is being an asshole.

This is why the report button exist and is also why the person who is being rude should get banned.

I never said try to force your team to mute. If anything is distracting you in a negative way, mute them.

no, no, no, no, no, and more no.

Those situations are not alike at all, and you are a bad person for comparing them that way.

Just mute them, report them at the end, and go about your day. Responding to them will just get you reported and will distract you from the game.

That's actually a standalone issue, which tbh doesn't have anything to do with OP's example if you ask me.

Since if you wear too exposed, you're essentially walking around telling everyone "come". Ofc I am not saying raping is an acceptable thing, it isn't but when you get people staring at you, trying to hook you up, or you have all of the above which attracts yourself the rape case while everything is totally under your own control like clothing, where you go and time of the day etc, then you really only have yourself to blame.

While on the other hand, being abused online is another thing since most if not all of those cases, they all start with bickering on trivial matters and before it turns bad. Which for the victims, they have limited control over the issue since we all know people on the internet can go berserk even when there is clearing nothing wrong.

Rapes mostly don't happen beyond your control, unless you're simply too young to have enough self awareness or protection, otherwise if you got raped while it's definitely not your fault but dare I say, it begins with you.

Anyway, for the verbal abusing, a few things.

  1. The online tough guys need to grow up.
  2. Having a few millimeters thick skin really won't hurt and it helps a great deal.
  3. Learn to mute, ignore and report.
  4. Don't participate online biatching if you can see it's going too far, let it die.

Dude, this is worse than what the original reply said.

Pardon my bad wordings and all since after all, English isn't my first language.

But really though I think most people can get the idea that I am trying to say.

It's not like I support it, just saying that people should be responsible for their actions when problems arise while they have most things under their own control to begin with, excluding the cases that really are the uncontrollable for whatever reason however.

Which is not the same about internet abusing, as it can totally happen and swirl down into some shiet storm without much going on in the first place. But hey we have a few functions to help, and it doesn't hurt growing that extra inch of your skin.

Anyway.

I know what you were getting at, about not comparing rape to cyber bullying, but that was not what I was referring to.

Dressing suggestively is not the cause of rape, which is practically what you said. Anyone, man or woman, should dress the way they want and not be ashamed of their bodies. Never blame the victim, that is just wrong. They had no control over it, all they were doing was being confident with how their body looks. They do not control people's action, the person committing the crime is completely at fault regardless of how the other person was dressed.

i am going to go on a limb here and say SEKAI is not totally wrong. And your partially wrong. But first lets start with rape victims should not of been raped. Its a crime, its wrong blah. K that is out of the way. This is not about blame.

Women make their selves bigger targets through not thinking about possible dangers. Drinking from a cup that they do not pour or get from a know source. Being in X location at night when said location is dangerous. Looking hot/sexed up then getting target by the creep in a club(date rape).

Should women have to worry about this shit? Nope, but they need to (should and do are 2 separate things). Fact of a matter is when a woman goes out to unwind like you are saying, is when they are targeted. This is not about how women should act but how bad people can be motivated at that time.

I never said anything about that, though. I am referring to clothing, and how people dress. Not lacking common sense. Our parents, TV shows, teachers, etc. have taught us for years not to accept things from strangers.

I am pro-freedom, so I believe a man or woman should be allowed to dress how they want without needing to worry about anything. (Yes, I know women are a majority of victims, but I am not going to neglect that it does happen to men).

Of course, common sense is required to do so. While we shouldn't have to worry about things like this, we do. Because in the world we live in, people don't understand their limits (or care about them). Victims of a crime should not be blamed, ever, for any actions that others do to destroy these limits.

I could bring up a ton of points, but I do not think a forum about a game is the place to put it.

if only in the prefect world.

Not an appropriate comparison AT ALL. The fuck is wrong with you?

Karlyr1 votes

Will try to nuance since my openning statement was really rude, I admit.

The problem in your whole statement is that you can't force someone to mute another. Being a jerk is not excusable. Someone shouldn't have to do something because someone else is being an asshole in every game.

This is why the report button exist and is also why the person who is being rude should get banned.

This is what I meant by the girl comparaison which I won't state again.

The major problem with the "let go" approach, is that someday the chat will just become a minefield instead of a place where you can discuss freely if you don't regulate it.

Some people will also try to calm them down to, at least, have another teamate instead of someone you have to deal with (AKA another enemy)

What the hell?

Or you could mute them, then report them so that Riot can handle the issue of someone breaking their terms? I personally don't care about someone calling me random bs on a game, they don't know me so why would I get offended? I only report because I would rather Riot have the final say in what happened in the game, because it is their game and if someone is doing something Riot doesn't approve of, shouldn't they be aware of it?

Penguin Eclipse1 votes

Muting takes more effort than ragers deserve. Best to just ignore them and report after the game.

KING ATTILA1 votes

fact: muting takes ZERO effort....and muting is ignoring them.

Sirsir1 votes

What are you tired of people arguing with you?

Matthias91191 votes

Riot's position is that muting does not undo the damage, so to speak. The presence of a mute feature is not a license for you to be a jerk.

Personally, I find it extremely annoying when someone is being a raging asshole. While it doesn't usually bother me all that much, there's really no good reason for it, and having to mute whiny jerks all the time gets old.

KING ATTILA1 votes

No it doesn't get old. You act as if you constantly get ragers and its tiring your fingers to click mute.

Matthias91191 votes

Or how about you decide what's annoying to you and I'll decide what's annoying to me. OK? OK.

If it doesn't bother you, great. Don't file reports for it. If most of the community feels like you do then that behavior will be tolerated.

KING ATTILA1 votes

Muting shows that you don't tolerate toxic behavior, you dunce.

Very Hard Engage1 votes

id rather deal with VA than RTC, they might say something useful. emphasis on might. but someone who mutes everyone right at the start, they severely limit our team to whatever they're capable of, so now i have to put in extra work to really carry to win.

If none of you can handle using your brains to mute toxic people in your games, then that's your own fault you let dumb people get to you. Mute then report. Downvote my sensible post more, you Mute noobs.
