Greetings. Lux main here, I'll quickly switch to the dark side and try to give you some tips what you can do against our kind.

Try to play around our Q cooldown. Bait us into missing our binding, without it, we're not capable of having an extended fight. If it happens to be ready though, be very careful with engaging, as we can just lock you in place and throw our damage out.

Get health pots or biscuits. Granted, it's very difficult to dodge an E, but as long as you don't let us trigger the passive after it, you're fine. If you come to lane with a pot you can easily sustain and watch us ran out of mana before we can seriously hurt you.

Get ganked. You only have limited control over this factor, but a jungler that's strong in the early game is a nightmare for us immobile and squishy Lux players.

I could start crying whenever I see an enemy LeeSin , Shaco and other junglers with a high damage output in the loading screen :(

Don't dive us This goes hand in hand with the first tip, but I have gotten so many dirty double kills from an enemy jungle and mid trying to dive me, while I still have my binding up.

In case you have a flexible Champion pool, here are some of the Champions I hate playing against as Lux. This is my personal counter list, it could be that another Lux player knows perfectly how to play against some of those, but I find it very tricky:

Orianna Ahri Leblanc Diana Fizz Azir Yasuo

Contrary to common belief, I wouldn't say that all Assassins are automatically good against Lux, since they're melee and vulnerable when trying to lasthit. I have very little problems playing against:

Zed Talon Katarina but again, this might just be my personal playstyle...

Dodge her poke (her e is super telegraphed like a janna q), stay behind minions and try to get her to waste mana. She doesn't have the best of waveclears so try to shove the minions under turret and roam to another lane if you're able.

a lot of people say her E is super easy to land but tbh, that's only true for melees. Ranged mages just need to position correctly around her while they cs and Lux will passively push out the lane. Everything she does is pretty telegraphed and easy to dodge, ganking is pretty easy because she's immobile, and she doesn't have a whole lot of mana regen early so simply waiting til she runs out of mana is a good strategy too.

Any real in-depth tips require matchup knowledge so if you give what champions you play, I'm sure someone can help you out better. Also, I rarely play mid (but I've played a decent amount of lux back when I did play mid) so I'm probably not the best person to help ya, but I hope I did somehow.

Who are you taking mid? I just typically go Brand and range her.

Her skill shots are relatively slow. Her E is the easiest thing for her to land but its still pretty slow. She also has to AA you after skills to maximize her damage. After she's used a skill and when she goes to AA you might be the best time to punish her depending on your champ.

Ahri Cassiopeia Galio Katarina Leblanc Morgana TwistedFate Velkoz Viktor Veigar

  • MR glyphs.

She's actually really easy to beat in lane most of the time because her cooldowns are super long and she only has 3 damage spells. If one of those 3 are on cooldown, she can't kill you if you're even.

The trick to dodging her E is to walk to the side rather than walking back. A good Lux will try to position it so that you walk into the projectile when you retreat. Lastly, Lux isn't a huge bully with just her E. She only chunks you if she can follow up with an AA. So let her push, freeze in front of tower as best as you can, and she's jungle food if she spams.

Play someone really mobile (AhriAkali Diana Ekko FizzKassadin Katarina Leblanc Lissandra), and bait out her Q. Once it's down, jump on top of her and burst her down for a few seconds (or kill if you can), and go back to your minions so she can't hit you with a retaliatory Q.

Play someone who can fight from range (Ahri Karma Lulu Malzahar Morgana Veigar Orianna Syndra Taliyah Velkoz) and just poke her down while dodging her E.

She is fragile, Bait her into coming at you, Let her use her spell, Dodge one, AND WHAM go HAM.

As Katarina , I just look for the animation of her E and run away from where ever she throws it. From the top of my head, I'm pretty sure the starting of the E animation is different from the Q animation, so I begin looking to dodge it before the projectile even comes out.

She can't out trade me with autos if I Q her and dodge the E. If she Qs, then I jump on her and she loses half her health. If I know I can outplay her, then when she Es, I just jump to her anyways and dodge her Q from melee range.

I see that you have games with Orianna Taliyah

Honestly it comes down to dodging her E and Q, and winning trades. Tal you could just clear waves play safe, and roam I'd imagine

Play Syndra. Always works for me. :)
