It's Time for Blitzcrank to get some attention!

So currently, Blitzcrank is a champion primarily played as support. However this was not his intended role back in the day. He most probably supposed to be like Pudge from DoTA and be capable of dealing damage on his own. This shows in his kit. His R's Passive is NOT good as a support champion. I think it's about time that Riot gives Blitzcrank some attention and give him a proper kit that reflects his role.

First thing is first though. We have to decide if he should be what they intended him to be, a bruiser type thing, or a support. I'm going to say support since we need plenty of those. So all of those bruiser aspects in his kit (like his Power Fist scaling with AD, Attack Speed on his W, and his Ult's Passive) need to be changed. With a few tweaks that properly make his entire kit encompass what it means to be a support he'd be a much more viable pick in competitive play I bet.

I do agree his kit is a mess number wise. He isn't a huge offender for "bad design number wise" But his kit is still a mess and i'm sure everyone would be fine with him being pushed more towards a support-bruiser-tank type champion.

Blitzcrank has also been around so long that I doubt anyone would be happy if he were to be 100% reworked into a generic top laner who is bad at supporting.

Sigh It's really time people gat this distinction right. A Tank/Fighter that assists the Marksman is not suddenly a Support.

My thought's on him and his ridiculous ultimate. At the very least Riot should consider increasing it just a bit. Most supports have 90 second cool-down's at rank 1 on their ultimate's and take way more skill/knowledge/mechanics/ and just general overall experience. It's obvious math but I'll say it anyway and use a basic comparison. Leona's Ult is up every 90 Seconds while blitzcranks is up every 30. That's 3 times as much pressure. That's every single teamfight and every single skirmish post 6. No other champion has that in the entire game. You may want to use Nidalee, Jayce and Elise as Exceptions but comparable to supports their "summoners" require a lot more knowhow/work on how to fully utilize their abilities I feel that this is the most unhealthy part of his kit and one of the best way's to give a opposing players a window of opportunity.

I don't think it's too much to ask of blitz players to show what they're made of/raise the bar a little bit. This would be a perfect way to separate the good, the bad, and the great.

If blitzcrank had a good support kit, AND his hook then the world would break in half. Thresh has a decent support kit aside from his hook but at least Thresh's doesn't pull you over walls or halfway across the lane.

If its not broken why fix it? Do you really think rito is gonna make him better or completely destroy his identity? In all honesty I feel like there are too many other champions that need to be fixed to work on a champ who not only does his job but does it well.

I remember blitz jungle, However the reall issue here isnt his kit at all, its his one move that makes him better bot lane than any other lane, The Q

NO OTHER CHAMPIONS has that kind of ability in their kit a "hello im going to pull you to my face" many champions have gap closers or stuff that pulls you tword them, but blitz is the only "pull all the way to me champ"

thresh hook really should just become more of a snare (because if you dont follow up with flaying them backwards the hook sucks)

The issue with blitz is right now his Q makes him more viable bot lane than others for the reason of he can pull something and itll die

you need to focus on making his Q more prevelant than just "grab and cmere" to be viable in other lanes

Blitz is currently one of the healthiest champion in league. SERIOUSLY. Top Biltzcrank is half a troll top pick, but works. Mid blitzcrank, no one ever saw that I'm pretty sure but I have a friend who plays it gold level and it works. Jungle blitzcrank is a complete ass and works.

This is due to his kit being versatile. Changing is ult or anything would result in destroying most of his other way to play him. And anyway, as stated before, he is still a strong pick Pro-level wise. So leave blitzcrank alone.

He literally would have to change in like 20 ways for him to be able to lane elsewhere

The problem I have with Blitz is that his play-style revolves entirely around one ability. You either land a grab and there's a huge payoff, or you miss and do nothing more until it's off cooldown. There's also the case where you grab the wrong opponent, and the play backfires, but it's rare.

One thought I had is to replace Power Fist with Rocket Fist. It becomes a skill shot with the same range as Rocket Grab, but results in a knock-back instead of a pull. Now a Rocket Grab is not so potentially deadly because there isn't a follow-on knock-up.

This also has the potential for some really interesting combo plays where a threat gets knocked-back and an opportunity gets pulled. But again, getting pulled isn't necessarily instant death. This is really important because now we can open up his whole kit to further tuning.

I think a change like this preserves and enhances his identity, and broadens his play-style in an interesting way.
