Veigar Changes - There needs to be one more change.

Personally I think the PBE Veig changes can work. In theory Riot wants people to choose between being stunned or being stuck in the cage while you hurl Q and meteors at them. However the cage is still HUGE. There's plenty of room to dodge those abilities. There needs to be one more change. Something to make it harder for people to dodge. Something that forces people to get dangerously close to the cage's walls where they can be stunned.

I propose either the cage becomes a smaller and tighter area, or give the meteors a MUCH bigger AoE. At the moment any competent player will be able to dodge those spells as is. But if the room for error becomes extremely tight then this could be just as good as the Live version of the cage. It's a freaking meteor so you'd think it would be enormous. There's PLENTY of time to dodge it as well since it has a huge warning/windup. The meteor seems like it was designed to be used on stunned enemies since its windup time is HUGE. Now that stunning people is much harder I think compensation is in order! Let it function even if the target isn't stunned.

The issue with the smaller circle is that it's that much harder to hit.

Instead, I propose the following:

E has the same PBE delay, and same PBE size (700). However, after being placed, it shrinks down to a much smaller diameter over the course of being on the field.

This way, if you're caught inside the E, you need to choose between being stunned or being herded towards the center, where it's easy for veigar & co. to wombo you.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. If they put a slow inside of the cage, it would make him playable.

I've never seen anyone above Silver get hit by the meteor in lane without being stunned by the cage first. In teamfights, yeah, but in lane? Not really.

Bigger AoE on meteor seems very reasonable. With that long delay, it could be even as big as Brand's Pillar of Flame, and that one is easily dodgeable with boots.

bigger aoe please

Although they're completely gutting veigar regardless I have a change that would work really well thematically.

When you use dark matter inside Event Horizion it pulls everyone to the Dark matter(within Event Horizon), has increased damage, and larger aoe.

The reason for this is: what causes an event horizon? A black hole, which has very high gravity. So if you shoot a meteor into it, it should stand to reason that it does more damage and have a larger aoe. The Pull just make the stun not completely useless anymore and ties in with the gravity aspect.

yeah i don't really see how i'm going to land w now. it feels like they want to make him an ult bot that just focuses on farming with his other 2 damaging abilities.

The W AoE would have to be increased... If the stun was smaller it would just be easier to dodge and get out of since there is a warning now

Good luck getting Riot to notice. I feel as if these posts are useless because they do nothing.

I have another change for veigar... Removing him from the game.

Thryale2/20/2015, 6:32:47 PM1 votes

does anyone know if veig's new skill shot q counts as aoe or not?

currently I run 9% spell vamp in lane to deal with enemy harass and help mitigate some of veigs terribad laning, but if his new q counts as aoe, that's gonna totally screw me over.

Just speed up the W.

What about adding a pillar in the middle of his cage that also appears after the delay and also stuns?

Honestly, the best thing you can do is to increase the lifetime of the walls.

Think about it, with a delay, you give people a chance to leave the area. When the walls pop, you get to either walk around inside the area for a bit, or walk into a wall and stun yourself. Basically, if the duration of the cage is three to four times longer than the actual stun, you get a longer lasting area denial spell, but also allow players the option of getting stunned early in order to exit faster without a Flash.

The only problem I can think of with making the circle smaller would be that it would be a lot easier to dodge.

I would say have the area inside the circle apply a massive slow to anyone inside of it.

The large field is Veigar's pressure in teamfights, where he can just lock you down or block others from coming in. Making it smaller would really hurt however if there was something to consider, probably have the field shrink for the duration of the E in which as Hyrum Graff suggests would give enemies time to react into taking the stun or losing a flash or an ability to escape. I think that'd be a nice change but size would definitely hurt him entirely.

Chickenlitte2/20/2015, 2:43:48 PM1 votes

Or have the inside of the cage slow the people inside it, that way it will be way harder to dodge. Just a thought.

Stars Shaper2/20/2015, 2:49:39 PM1 votes

Or shooting the W inside the cage (in what would be the bullseye) makes its range increase to the whole area of the cage.

I like the whole idea for a skillshot on his q. It makes him a little harder to play. The delay on his e however is stupid. I don't think it should be a thing. The great veigars can land their stun right on top of any target, moving or not. Now with this delay and the fact that the enemy can see where it's gonna be, it's gonna be impossible to land his stun. His w already has a huge aoe. It's almost as big as the inside of his e. I do however like the idea of his e getting smaller over time. That way if someone is inside of it, they will be screwed. With that change i think it would compensate for the large delay on his stun.
