Just picked up Ekko, and I feel like his kit lends him really well to doing cool things with hybrid damage, especially since those champs got some buffs to their item selection. Would a hybrid Ekko work best in the jungle or in a lane? What items would you build on him/in what order?

Redmercy had a video on his channel a few weeks back where he was building gunblade into rapid fire cannon on him. The passive from raid fire cannon increases the range for the second part of E.
I've seen full AP/Ap pen ekko, and he can two shot Syndra and one shot Annie like Tallon. As for hybrid I'd look up youtube videos as I've never seen a hybrid one in game before. I saw an AP attack speed one once though, Full build:
x6 His attack speed was wack and he was easier to kill then normal.
Now tank ekko I've seen is good, the two enemy ekko's I've seen as it where nearly unbeatable as AP tanks or straight Tank. The heal from his ult refills all the damage you did to him and makes you start all over again.

None of his spells scale with AD and he has a passive with on hit magic damage after certain procs I believe... There's no real reason to build any AD on him
