players should be allowed to customize their champion power to how they like with their gold

just because something is viewed as an assassin doesnt mean it needs to build damage. i play tank talon and katarina alot. it works pretty nice and gives power to a team. every champ should be able to customize the power it gives to their team

. you should be allowed to pick the champion kit you want and then increase its power how you want through items

if someone likes the playstyle of akali but wants to build tanky so they survive longer in a fight and dont get killed in 1 second if focused. but do less damage, that should be allowed

tank akali is not even that good. the damage is lower and its the same as tank yi. needs to be in melee range and can be focused. the playstyle is healthy and not a problem at all

yi is ONLY broken now because sated devourer gives about 5000gold of damage for 2000gold on yi

without sated devourer, tank yi would be as fair and balanced as tank akali

i have believed for a long time that sated devourer is bad design because it gives too much power to a few favored champions, with yi being the most favored

if warrior only existed, yi would be completely fine with his bruiser builds too.

bruiser assassins are fine because they REALLY do half as much damage or less than if they were to build all damage items. trading half your damage to survive a few seconds more is NOT a problem and its healthy gameplay. if someone dominated their lane (through outplaying) and they are 10-0 and are ahead of the game and massively ahead of you in gold, then im sorry but you lost and theres nothing you can do about it. thats not unhealthy gameplay, its what league is supposed to be. your supposed to be rewarded for outplaying your enemy, the only crappy part is how your unable to leave the game at 10 minutes if you see your toplaner is 0-5 and the games donezo

i feel people should be allowed to leave anytime they want and start a new game. sure leavers would increase at first, but eventually it would reach a fair point where you ONLY play the game if you like your team and they are nice to you, and people would be FORCED to always be nice to their teammates and say nice things to them or risk making them leave. eventually things would even out and you would have the same game but with just less toxicity, and YOU would never be forced to play with a team you dislike

Tank akali reminds me of when nid was first reworked and everyone would go tank ad builds. It was oppressive if ahead but weak when behind the same goes for akali. I'm with you I don't see an issue and just cause it counters some of the more popular picks doesn't make it need nerfs.

I feel like it is an answer to what is meta and eventually someone will find a way to destroy akali and then the cycle will continue

This is true to a point.

The main issue with Tank assassin comes down to the default best-builds in a typical RPG though:

the longer you survive the more damage you get to deal, and the faster you kill things the less damage you take. As such: building half-defense, half-offense is pretty much always the optimal way to build any character in a typical game.

With offense/defense mixes, the play style of an "assassin" also radically shifts from stalking your prey, waiting until they're weak and going in for the kill with a flank or backstab, to simply charging headfirst at someone and repeatedly smacking them in the face.

Tanky Assassins should be a thing you can do in LoL as LoL allows you to run any champion in any lane with any skill-rank order with any item with any mastery settup with any rune settup. Personal customization is a huge part of the game.

Tanky Assassins should never be the optimal way to build an assassin though, as turning assassins into XinZhao cheapens the experience for everyone. I mean - let the guy with the spear and practical armor charge headlong at things, let assassins with daggers and cloaks be sneaky.

Unfortunately, Riot gutted squishy assassin Akali one too many times. Until they give back her power as an assassin. I believe that tank bruiser assassin Akali deserves to remain a top build on her.

Only if it's against Riot's design philosophy. Since Akali is labeled as an assassin there could be a problem.

Mind telling me what exactly fiora gives in exchange for being tanky?

Fiora's kit is among the most telegraphed kits in the entire game. It takes her a while to optimally use her ultimate and her passive removes the element of surprise from her trades.

Her safety mechanics in mobility and Riposte also aren't exactly on the same level of Zigg's range or Zed's mobility. She's much closer to Lee Sin, Irelia, and Jax in terms of having respectable in-kit survivability but still needing some bulk to really pull off the fighter/bruiser style of her fighter archetype and fighter kit: because at the end of the day, Fiora is a fighter and was re-designed as a fighter. And the single most common trend of fighters are that they build 50% tank, 50% damage.

Issue with her ATM seems to be more along the lines of "Fiora is one of the best fighters in the game" over "Fiora, as a fighter, totally caught everyone off-guard by using a fighter build".

Lol. This thread is all over the place. First you're talking about how tank Akali is fair (which I agree until they give back the traits that made her a good assassin). Then you're talking about how Sated is overpowered (disagree with this after all the nerfs its been through and its early weakness). THEN you switched the topic again, this time about you're desires to surrender early (not leave early like you worded it right? You can already leave whenver you want) when your team is doing horribly. Settle down and pick one topic XD.
