I hate the fact that there is no flavor in this game, like, I would love it if I could just do my own build on an ADC, without the "meta" build crushing you. You can't be different in this game, or you get beat to hell. That makes it boring.
Why are you letting the meta dictate how you play? If you're so focused on winning that you can't allow yourself to experiment for fun, then why play?
Had a match in aram last night against an Ezriel who went full tank he was harder to kill than the actual tank...how that for off meta lol
You can be different in this game and do good, but the community dogmatically defends the meta that they'll trash talk anyone who doesn't follow it. They won't say anything if you are doing good, but do bad once and they'll gang up on you. I use an off-meta Sona build and was on a winning streak so I didn't notice it, but when I started losing games here and there, even the enemy team in all chat does not fail to tell you how bad you are on those losing games.

Coming up with an off-meta build is hard, since you have no reference and need to know the champion yourself. It means its probably easiest to do on your main. Its hard. You are stepping into unknown territory. If you are trying to come up with one with a goal in mind, ignore the people who berate you if you lose a game once. Focus instead on actual data, like winrate, to see if the build is viable or not, not what that random enemy said to insulted you.

It will never change so buy tissues and deal with the rash of shit you will get from those that don't have the same mindset as you do.
It's just because you are a casual player. When the game was first developing, people would build some dumb shit. Now that they actually understand what works best in order for them to win, they will do whatever they can to win, meaning build meta.
