Just played a game where no one was toxic and everyone worked together and we stomped... shouldn't the team get rewarded instead of just a single player?

No, even in this situation there at least one player playing better than other, doing the call, cheering the team more than other... someone shine more than other.
the reward of the team is the victory & lp. Honor is a bonus for the "best player".
