Why you should ignore your team sometimes.

In lower elo, people make horrible judgment calls. For example, if your team is ADC top, squishy jungle, and the enemy team has Amu/Malphite/Annie, fighting as 5 is suicide. So, while your team is furiously pinging "?"s at you, push a side lane and force them to split and deal with you, and let your team clean up as the enemy frantically tries to back to stop you from pushing.

If you had listened to your team, you would have been aced and lost, but since you allowed your team to clean up, now you can take baron. The lower elo's hate split pushing, but it's the only way to win when your team makes stupid decisions in pregame selection.

Preach, boy. Split-pushing got me to Gold, at least. I must admit it's getting harder and harder, though. I may be forced to re-learn to play in team soon.
